98,000+ Viewers. Halo World Championship Grand Final

This was the first Esport event I’ve ever tuned into live. It was a good time.

It’s pretty rockin’ tbh.

Oof. Sorry to hear that.

I really wish 343 would release the daily player count. The number I’ve heard shows this game is far from dead.

It’d be nice, but they’re definitely not going to. They don’t need that drama.

Anyone else not getting the coating on the br?

People watching the HCS to get free stuff doesn’y necessarily translate into people playing the game
98,000 people watched the event but less than 2000 people playing it on steam, and the game doesnt crack the top 20 played games on XBL

I’m not saying the game is dead, I’m not even saying the game is on life support.
I am sayin irreparable damage has been done to this game and this franchise and it will never be able to achiveve what it could have been had it have been a complete game on launch…hell if it was a functioning live service game on launch…

corralation is not causation as they say

The Tokyo Olympic Games of 2020 reached a global broadcast audience of more than three billion people ( https://olympics.com/ioc/news/olympic-games-tokyo-2020-watched-by-more-than-3-billion-people ), therefore all these 3 billion people must be athletes and/or work out frequently.

98000 ACCOUNTS doesn’t necessarily equal people unfortunately… some people have more than 1 account. Some have 2 or 3… In theory I would split that number in half.

And there could be three or four people watching together on one stream.

Yeah, video games are totally like soccer and ice hockey… people gather together to watch esports and order pizza and diet coke.

Who would do that? Stare at my buddies phone watching other people play a video game? I seriously doubt it, but in theory you are correct. Just not likely my friend. Do you feel like if they didn’t offer the drops the number would be the same?

Who would set up multiple accounts to get drops for a game they don’t care about?

I’m just saying account numbers don’t account for much.

I personally would not have set up a Twitch account if it were not for the Gladiator’s Edge side kick coating. I’ve got all the drops since then, and have watched a bit - mostly this weekend though.

I don’t understand… I got 4 coatings yesterday. I didn’t “watch” I just wanted the coatings… I never said I didn’t like the game. Why are you arguing with me? Nobody is getting together and watching them play other than people already there. The only difference between elites and regulars is connection speed. That is what separates the winners and losers, not really skill.

???

I’m not arguing at all, and I didn’t claim you didn’t watch or like the game. You replied to me with this question and I responded.

This is what i was referring to.

Gotcha. My bad.

Definitely not trying to argue or make you feel any sort of negative way.

I’m just saying the account numbers don’t mean much either way.

The Gladiators Edge BR coating (& HaloWC 22 Trophy charm) aren’t showing up for me too in the customize section of the game even though I’ve definitely earnt them yesterday for watching the stream. They are both showing a ticked unlocked drops in my twitch inventory. 343i need to make sure they are available to use for everyone that watched the final ASAP.

Claimed the BR skin and Trophy but not showing up in game? I’ve watched the whole weekend and claimed all my drops and they were instantly in my inventory in game, but the BR and trophy are not. Twitch shows check mark and claimed already, halo way point shows the last one claimed was the Gladiators Edge bundle. I’ve restarted my game 6+ times and played a quick match and restarted and still no BR or Trophy.
Anyone know what’s going on or how to get my BR drop?
