9 scenario calculations for time needed to complete BP

Edit: If Mods let me, I am happy to share the screenshot of the calculations.
Hi all,
so I played some 20 hours of Halo Infinite by now. I want to add some constructive criticism to the ongoing discussion on the Processing: Halo Infinite XP progression.png…
progression system. Like many others, I don’t think that how it is currently designed will make many people happy - especially since 343i promised gaming shouldn’t be a full-time job.

I calculated 9 scenarios to show how much time is needed to complete the Battle Pass.

**As you will see the XP per win that is discussed will not make much of a difference in terms of playing time. The real difference maker where it won’t feel like a second job anymore is when performance-based XP is coming in. Gaming time to max out the BP is then reduced from 6 months (or approx. 165-180 gaming days of 1 hour each) to something around 3 months (or approx. 70-80 gaming days of 1 hour each). **
Thus, I personally think that there should be some kind performance-based XP offered in Halo Infinite.

The base assumptions are as follows: The player plays on average 60 mins per day but every day of the week (except for in the last two scenarios H and I where he/she plays 5 days per week). Assuming a game takes about 15 mins (incl. finding a match) that makes 4 games per gaming day.
Each scenario below adds another assumption on the previous scenario.

Per scenario the total playing times comes then down to the following:

  • Scenario A (Only daily challenges worth 50 XP are completed): 18 months or 71 weeks or 500 gaming days

  • Scenario B (Additional 10 weekly challenges with 250 avg XP are completed): 6 months or 26 weeks or 179 gaming days

  • Scenario C (Additional 25 XP per win with 50% win ratio): 6 months or 24 weeks or 165 gaming days

  • Scenario D (Additional 50 XP per win with 50% win ratio): 5 months or 22 weeks or 152 gaming days

  • Scenario E (20% of 1,500 player score is earned as XP, without XP per win): 2 months or 8 weeks or 57 gaming days

  • Scenario F (Performance XP as above plus 25 XP per win): 2 months or 8 weeks or 55 gaming days

  • Scenario G (Performance XP as above plus 50 XP per win): 2 months or 8 weeks or 54 gaming days

  • Scenario H (as Scenario G but only 5 gaming days per week): 3 months or 10 weeks or 70 gaming days

  • Scenario I (same as Scenario H but only 15% performance XP): 3 months or 12 weeks or 82 gaming days

Please let me know if you think that does not make sense. Any one can tell me how I can send this also to 343i? Or is there value in doing that?
Take care,
/k

Honestly, I don’t care how long it takes to complete the full battle pass, just let me choose what I want to unlock with my progression

i like this standpoint, it gives a good point of view on how much time is spent playing.
I think scenario H and G are the best options.
Maybe a reduction to 10% would be better so challenges are still necessary to complete the BP in time but not so to progress.

Thanks!
So if I reduce performance XP to 10% with 5 days gaming per week (or 5 hours) then we end up with

4 months or 14 weeks or 100 gaming days (or hours).

If you are gaming 7 days per week (with one hour each) and 10% performance XP then BP will actually be completed in

3 months or 11 weeks or 80 gaming days/hours.

Again super happy to upload the screenshot of the calcs but I cannot as I am a new user

P.S. The former would actually result in pretty much 100 hours to complete the Battle Pass which is what 343i wanted with “1 hour per level” in the first place.

The assumptions for that are

  • 10% performance based XP with avg score of 1,500
  • 5 hours gaming per week
  • 10 weekly challenges completed with avg. score 250
  • 50 XP per game, 50 XP per win, 50% win ratio
