8GB to play Halo 4 multiplayer???

8GB to play Halo 4 multiplayer??? what do you guys think?..

It doesn’t make a difference to me (because I have the space), but that is a lot.

I haven’t been keeping up on this so I’m a little confused on exactly what this is.

Is this just the Spartan Ops missions or does this include ALL of the multiplayer for Halo 4? And if so is this a mandatory “installation” or just an optional thing for better performance? Like BF3’s texture pack which gave you better graphics if you wanted to sacrifice the hdd space for it?

It’s fine, I have about 204GB of free space…

It means that this game is going to be huge, my guess is either forge maps or spartan ops

8 GB recommended.
Reach took up 10 GB for me.

8GB is alot of hard drive space considering Halo: Reach has only taken up 9.1GB of hard drive space for me. Anyway, I hope bs angel can bright to light more information about this subject in the next Halo Bulletin. Considering this information, I would like to know how many discs Halo 4 takes up. Is it two, three or four discs?

8Gb at the current price of USB drives is negligible at worst, amazon has 16Gb for less than $5.

I think my BF3 install is upwards of 14GB right now

I believe it is for all of multiplayer. As in Forge, War Games, and Spartan Ops.

Spartan Ops would be the big one. 50 downloadablw missions over 10 weeks… a CGI scene every week along with the 5 mission pack.

That includes Spartan Ops.

Works for me.

Hey guys, where’d ya find out about the 8GB requirement or you just speculating what you think it’ll need?
cheers!
PS 8GB is fine with me! tbh if it makes the game significantly better i’d be happy with double that! :stuck_out_tongue:

Not speculation. According to IGN, this info was released by Microsoft.

“Minimum 8GB USB Flash Drive or Xbox 360 Hard Drive required for Multiplayer. For optimal experience in Campaign mode, play with Xbox 360 Hard Drive. (For Xbox 360 4 GB, Arcade and Core consoles, Xbox 360 Hard Drive sold separately).”

That’s on halo.xbox.com/halo4.

I think almost anyone who owns an Xbox 360 and plays with any amount of regularity should have at least 8GB of space, which frankly isn’t a lot.

However, it surprises me that this amount of space is required to play MULTIPLAYER, which to my knowledge has never occurred in any game before - while HDDs were usually required to access all features, never before has such a basic feature as MULTIPLAYER required a HDD for the Xbox. Makes me wonder how massive the game actually is - possibly requiring 2 or 3 discs to run?

And of course, it begs the quote:

Your Xbox can run Crysis.
But can it run Halo?

I’m pretty sure the guy said he had an 8GB hard-drive and asked if it was “enough” and Frankie said it was enough, not required, just enough. And I assume he means with the game installed and all the Spartan ops maps and future DLC maps.
