8gb required for multiplayer?

Microsoft Confirmed that halo 4 requires 8GB of memory to play multiplayer i haven’t seen threads about this so i thought i’d create one.

I think this is good. The only reason they would do this is because the game needed it. And if the game needs it, then it must mean the game has a lot of content. This = good. And let’s face it, the only time you wouldn’t have 8gb free is if you had an old 20gb hdd or just a memory card. And well… It’s just time you upgraded really. I mean come on, who does still have a 20gb hdd from 2005 in 2012. And yeah, I know the slims come with a 4GB option, but no real gamer would buy. But even if they did, just stick a USB storage device into it, or just buy a 250GB or 320GB. It’ll last you a longgg time.

how could they fit 8gb on the disk alongside campaign?

> how could they fit 8gb on the disk alongside campaign?

They didn’t. XGD3 only allows, I think, 8.5/9GB of data on the disk.

The 8GB is for Spartan Ops.

If you’ve played Battlefield 3 you’ll see something similar. They ask you to install it which means that you’ll either have to download Spartan Ops directly from Xbox Live or Halo 4 will be a two disk game.

I have more, then enough room …

And thats a good thing More great game play

I know right?

This is quite good for me.

Since I have got the old 20g HDD ill have to get a new hard drive

Halo 4 better be worth it…

Probably means that Halo 4 will be massive, and possibly requires more than one disk. But it’s not like people don’t have 8GB - almost every one who plays video games more than once a month should have enough memory space.

Maybe in the future what defines a game will not be required graphics, but required memory space. I can see that happening if open-world environments become the norm.

Your Xbox can run Crysis.
But can it run Halo?

I’m surprised my copy of Crysis 2 didn’t destroy my xbox with those good graphics.

Great, now I need a New hard drive…

I don’t know how much my XBOX has, but I am sure I have enough.

I think the game and the content it will give us is well worthy the 8GB of space. We aren’t that far away from release anymore so we will soon find out.

The Dual Layer DVD that the 360 uses holds 8.5 GB of data. Though its limited to 7GB last time I checked.

Meh, I was looking for a reason to buy a new hard drive anyway.

I’m…really hoping it’s not a two disk game…I hated that in BF3.

Consoles aren’t getting any younger; this is the kinda stuff you have to expect towards the end of a cycle.

The space has nothing to do with spartan ops actually (cauz no one forces you to download DLC). The space is simply needed for the cache and the theater feature (cauz the game automatically records the player data in the background during a match). That’s why you need an HDD.

Thank god I bought a 250gb slim when my original 20gb one died of RROD.

Good thing I got my 250gig Slim two Christmas’s ago. My 20gig was at the end of its limit.
