I am upset with 343, because, I bought the ultimate edition for $79.99. Compared to the complete edition’s price of 59.99. This was on pre-order, and now you are telling me I need to PAY for a DLC that is available in the complete edition? They too get the season pass. I feel like you are trying to take advantage of ignorant people who dont care to look this up. This is wrong, and I demand those who pre-ordered the ultimate edition, access to the DLC, or I will File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, and also assist others who have also purchased the ultimate edition, file complaints as well if the unfair practice is not resolved soon.
Sincerely, Mr. Slaby
I Pre-ordered "
Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition - Pre-Order" and payed $79.99 on January 24, 2017
if there is some reasoning why the Ultimate Edition should not have the DLC even though many payed more for it than the new Complete Edition, I would like to be informed on these forums, so others can proceed with this issue until a resolve is found.
Read what I posted, doesn’t make even more sense
As much as I agree, I’m getting a little bit sick of seeing threads discussing what’s already been discussed for 50 pages.
Just think of it as a price drop for new players, happens all the time.
Also the game population is much lower now and therefore you could argue it isn’t worth the original price.
Either way, I don’t understand why people make a huge fuss over a few dollars considering you get potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay out of it.
If you have issues with the season pass and ATN please discuss it here
As for why you’re not entitled to ATN, the season pass said it would cover 6 months, which it did. Additionally the price for games goes down over time. Prior to the complete edition the Ultimate Edition cost 20-40 dollars, it’s naturally what happens in a game’s life cycle. You can’t complain that something got cheaper over time.
Bottom line,
I payed $79.99 for UE.
CE is $59.99
CE Inlcludes:
Halo Wars 2
Season Pass
ATN DLC
UE includes:
Halo Wars 2
Halo Wars Definitive Edition (A $19.99 Value)
Season Pass
So without counting Definitive edition, we are at a value of $59.99 but without the DLC compared to the Complete edition.
What do we do?
The misleading advertising practice is also a concern to me. Ultimate means Final, or best of its kind, but that is not what we are getting. we are being cheated, and ripped off due to shady marketing practices.
Definition of ultimate:
Noun: The best achievable or imaginable of its kind.
On this basis alone, we can see another marketing mistake. Replacing “ultimate” with a “complete” version with more content at a lower price? Terrible. If it was the same content at a lower price, then that is normal. But it isn’t the same content, and thats the problem. Why didnt they sell a complete edition at launch??? Why didnt they tell us that a major expansion outside the UE/SP was coming? They announced it long after everyone bought the UE/SP.
It reeks of a money grab to me.

Exactly why I encourage people to report this to the FTC, or contact a lawyer for a possible class action lawsuit. if we can get one that thinks there is a case and is willing to go for it, then it really would help the community get what it deserves.

A class action lawsuit? The best case you have for that is the old description of the season pass saying it included an “expansion” (while preorders were up). This was changed to say simply “missions”, those who preordered were not made aware of the change and thus were not informed to cancel due to such a change.
I am not really encouraging this “lawsuit” however if you are being absolutely serious that’s probably the only and best case you have for it.
It’s 20 bucks, you’re going to file a lawsuit for 20 bucks. You do realize how much of a hassle legal action is right? And when you don’t win, have fun paying everyone’s fees.

Your forgetting emotional damages. On top of that, think of all the time he lost because he had to come here and complain about something that’s already been discussed ad nauseam.
