Now here’s a question, is 343 a good driver?
75k is pathetic, I was playing Halo 3 earlier and there were 10k on…and that wasn’t peak population, this is also a game that came out in 2007…Halo 4 gonna burn.
Its not even midday today though and im pretty sure America is behind me by 6-8 hours? 115k average since the map pack release is pretty poor though
75k at 6am est…
Still above 100k for a day: http://halocharts.com/2012/chart/dailypeakpopulation/all
Is that not good? Well I’ve not been online for a few days because I’ve been ill.
I’m pretty sure I speak for a lot of people with statistical sense when I say that this thread is idiotic and baseless. 75k in today’s market is a good number due to the sheer competition in people playing games.
Right now, there are several modern military shooter games that are popular, like MW3, BO2 and BF3. These games weren’t as popular in the early days of Halo 2 or Halo 3, and have pulled the demographic that it appeals to away from Halo games.
But what about the die-hard Halo fans? Right now they’re split between three communities, being Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. Combine the population of all the split Halo communities plus a skimmed number from the Modern Military games, and you’ll have about the peak population of Halo 2.
It’s not the game failing, it’s the market changing.
I dunno about you, but it is only 3:30 AM here on the west coast. I really wouldn’t expect a high population at this time, but 75k still sounds pretty good for right now.

That’s all very true, but Xbox 360’s install base is around 75 million now and Halo is supposed to be the flagship franchise.

That’s the heart of the problem, they’re taking away Halo’s niche be jamming in a bunch of gimmicks that don’t fit with the classic gameplay we all expect. Loadouts and killstreaks and perks all suit CoD’s play style just fine, but when you stack all of those things together in Halo it just doesn’t feel balanced. If I want those things I’ll start playing CoD again.

and of course, the number of people playing online games hasn´t change since halo 2. halo 4 MP has failed, right now it´s not playable outside americas due to fatal combination of low population, the lack of good connection search, and ridiculous lag compensation.
i LOVE the game, and enjoyed it a lot. for two weeks…
It’s not even peak hours yet for Halol 4, come back in about 10 hours. Chances are this will be the first day with a peak population just below 100k.
I just don’t understand why so many people care about the population number. I honestly don’t think games should even show us. I play the game instead of looking at the population number.

Personally, I don’t care how many people are playing it, I just want to enjoy it which I do immensely

> 1) Population numbers help developers decisions on whether to do future games
> 2) If it is low, haters can use the statistics to bash the game
> 3) If it is high, lovers can use it to sing its praises

i use it to know if i´m going able to play the game. if infinity slayer is above 10k players i might have a decent match if i´m lucky enough and play solo, not split screen.
Fear not, beginning the afternoon of the 25th all the little kids too youg to be playing in the first place will be jumping in to play!
