75% Pummel on TU

As Originally stated, the TU gametypes would have 75% pummel instead of 100%, and now, its getting quite annoying cough Halo 3 AR Rush cough, with some research I have made, it is possible to kill a full healted spartan with only 6 AR shots and a pummel, which kind of sucks to be him, so to balance things out (and finnally get rid of that stupid double pummel) please 343, I beg you, change the pummel power to 75% on TU gametypes, for a better Reach of tomorrow!

lol i actually like it this way. You shouldn’t be going for pummels like there is no tomorrow, brings a risk-reward to melee Combat. It still exists but to me, i find it that more often than not, Sprint double fleeing (the evolution of the AR death charge) is NOT effective at all. I’ve tested this out many times already on custom and matchmaking. My reward? The respawn screen. People still throw grenades like no tomorrow though >.< Don’t even press that right trigger, just ignore it :P.

I would like to test out 75 melee, see how that works out. Maybe it will still punish double melee sprinters while feeling fair, i have to try it out.

BxR is still in reach. If you learn that, you can save you self the hassle from seeing the grenade and the respawning screen… xD

haha if only the movement speeds allowed the dodging of the grenades. I swear those things can one shot you with full shields sometimes. Full. Shields.

Oh speaking of though’s levels they are my favorite on reach for the dmr battles but i agree. Its call of duty with everyone with the nuke perk lol!

Nothing wrong with TU beatdowns, its the shield recharge timer thats altering your opinion. Halo 3 was a lot faster to start recharging but in Reach its like a second or so slower! Mix that in with sprint and jetpacks and you have a poorly balanced game.

The real question is why did Bungie allow you to alter nearly every thing on customs apart from the shield recharge timer?

I agree 1000%, 75% melee would be an awesome change. Encourage noobs to learn how to shoot not just run in and beatdown.

I liked this idea but i think the reflex for a new player will always be to melee his opponent. fact is it does more damage unless they have a shotgun or rockets…

In that case, Halo is in major need of that one perk which reduces explosive damage. I think it was Blast Shield? Not sure, Black Ops has it under a different name :stuck_out_tongue: Pretty useful against the nade spam and annoying Napalm strikes.

Not ashamed of admitting that i played COD before, bad netcode yeah but i can be enjoyable, if lacking in innovation.

Ya know, this kind of knock-on, rolling re-balancing -Yoink- is symptomatic of a bad title update.

Actually, it would help a lot to the balance. If Im right, the now 6 AR+ pummel kill would be like 10 + pummel, and DMR still would be 3 shots pummel for the kill, So it would actually help a lot the balance. The next issue would be the movement speed, with 110% and 110% jump I think would be right for nerfing grenukes (Oh and 1 grenade start on Squad)

There’s no reason to start that now.

There’s a reason the anniversary settings have 3 hit melees you know.

What is that reason? Cause it’s certainly isn’t that it’s there because a 3 melee kill existed in ANY of the previous games.

Having some playlists with 2 hit melee and some with 3 hit melee is too confusing.
