7 years. 7 long years. What Halo Wars 2 Needs

Thank You. I Love you 343i. This game has kept my friends together from 1-3 in the morning after all the party’s and -Yoink- that go along with high school. Now that everyone is going away to college and some without their Xbox, we thought this tradition was over. Thank you. In the last year games have sort of worn away with me. Call of Duty, Halo MCC, Sports games alike but, I could always hop on with 6 people and battle on a 7 year old game. As someone who plays this often please hear some points I would like to bring up.
(Keep in mind i have no clue when this came is taking place either after halo 5 or after halo wars)

1. DONT MAKE PREORDER/SPECIAL EDITION LEADERS: A common trend today in gaming is all the different -Yoink- people can buy for more money and release at a later date. Please make all of that cosmetic.

2. TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE E3 BETA: This should be a performance benchmark. ofc this is much older but I’m talking about the spartans doing pushups, and more realistic bases.

3. PC TO XBOX ONE PLAY: This feature would be absolutely incredible. This is also very likely

4. IF FLOOD ARE INCLUDED… USE THEM: They were interesting in Halo Wars. Missed potential.
Flood Marines (Main Infantry)
Flood Tank (Anti Vehicle)
Flood Carrier (Special Forces)
Idk just ideas

5. Listen to the community. EA sports made a comity of players to influence their EASHL Mode. This brought a beta and a much improved game. A comity of Current Halo Wars players would greatly benefit your development (although this is unlikely)

6. (NOT MY IDEA) FORGE MODE: a map creator (maybe not terrain) but simply bland canvases where we could place large rocks, trees, gaps and bridges along with bases, reactors, sentinels, rebels, and even cover spots would make endless replay value. This with potential Desert, Snow or other terrains as DLC

I want the flood to be a main faction in this one. I know there were some mods out there that let you do that on the first one but I think it required a modded console.

Yes I had seen this. That’s where I got the idea from. The flood could have the potential to destroy the ODST tactics by deploying flood spores infecting a large number of them if done correctly. Imagine?

That sounds like an interesting idea but if there were MP matches it could be abused and become a large issue, but if executed in a good way it could be done. Perhaps a limit to how many infected units you can have?

Well yes the key is balance. That (and lack of vehicles) is likely the reason they hadn’t been playable before. But as you said, It needs to be executed in a good way!

I don’t think lack of vehicles was a reason they weren’t playable. They had quite large unit, or atleast one.
For instance, Zerg has no vehicles, yet they’re doing great against Terran.

I think the reason might have been time constraints, that and there being 2 factions with 3 sub-factions each, it can be done but it could be difficult getting three subfactions for the Flood, seeing as they’re essentially one conscience. It would have been strange.

Also, I don’t see how the Flood couldn’t have some sort of mass infection without it getting out of hand. It could have been a super ability over an area which would infect all units. Like the Cryo Bomb.

I agree 100% with this. That demo should be what CA and 343 shoot for. I love Halo Wars 1 the way it is, but making the game a little deeper with custom bases and bases that can be invaded, would make it incredible.

I want more leaders on a whole, tbh a funny pre order is start at a higher rank, watch the kids with rich parents get wrecked and give the pros a nudge. But having the ability to play as flood would be good but the thing is you can only spawn infection form and maybe tanks (you know the ones carrying spores, not MBTs) the others require dead bodies or hijacking vehicles so gameplay to begin with would be poor if you think about it. Although I think if balanced right (e.g. You get tons of supplies for successfully destroying a flood habitat) would incentify people to attack the flood early for bonuses which could either profit the flood by getting vehicles or combat forms or destroy them so flood is hard to balance

I’m not gonna right a paragraph on forerunner/prometheam leaders as it is 1 in the mornin for me, but they would be nice, like warden eternal or the didact or something canonically incorrect for the hell of it.

Ensemble believed during the development of Halo wars that if the flood were to be playable they would need to be balanced to match the UNSC and Covenant however balancing the flood inturn would no longer make them the “greatest threat in the galaxy” I’d love more variety in units, bigger battles, stable framerate and a bit more depth,customization for skirmish etc. Iron out some issues and leave what made the game fantastic the same, 2 campaigns and don’t compromise any rts rules. Stephen Rippy for the soundtrack again would be wishful thinking.
