$7 vs $10 vs $15 vs $20 bundle items values solved/evaluated with math - The info you all wanted

(Please Read or just skip to tl;dr values list below so we can finally settle the Store debates)

I’ve more or less found the values of the items in the store using reasonable estimates and math. Let’s talk about this for a second, since people love ranting about store prices, because this actually needs attention. Don’t let this get buried in rants, when I have the data right here.

I’ll put the tl;dr list at the top for people that don’t want the rest

- - - - DETERMINED ITEM ESTIMATED VALUES - - - -

  • Vehicle Coating $2 ($3? $6 for Legendary?)
  • Weapon Coating $2
  • Armor Coating $3
  • Stance $3 ($2?)
  • Weapon Charm $3 ($3.50 or $4.50 for Epic?)
  • Vehicle Attachment $1
  • Emblem $0.50 ($1 for Epic?)
  • Helmet (N/A)
  • Armor Attachments (N/A)
  • AI Model $7 ($8?)
  • AI Color $6 ($5?)

How did I get these numbers? I went over multiple bundles, but I would like to see the official values decided by the 343 marketing team, in case I’m slightly off somewhere.

$20 - CR 2,000 - FIRE AND FROST
BUNDLE CONTENTS (11)

  • MK VII Coating $3
  • MK V Coating $3
  • Yoroi Coating $3
  • BR Coating $2
  • Bulldog Coating $2
  • Sniper Coating $2
  • Stance $3
  • Nameplate Emblem $0.50
  • Vehicle Emblem $0.50
  • Armor Emblem $0.50
  • Weapon Emblem $0.50

$15 - CR 1,500 - A259 COLLECTION
BUNDLE CONTENTS (11)

  • M12 Warthog Pilchuck Bumper $1
  • Warthog Coating $2
  • Scorpion Coating $2
  • Mongoose Coating $2
  • Gungoose Coating $2
  • Rockethog Coating $2
  • Razorback Coating $2
  • Nameplate Emblem $0.50
  • Vehicle Emblem $0.50
  • Armor Emblem $0.50
  • Weapon Emblem $0.50
  • No Wasp Coating

$10 - CR 1,000 - SNOW BIRD
BUNDLE CONTENTS (6)

  • Wasp Coating $6? (Legendary inflation?)
  • Bulldog Coating $2
  • Nameplate Emblem $0.50
  • Vehicle Emblem $0.50
  • Armor Emblem $0.50
  • Weapon Emblem $0.50

$7 - CR 700 - HAPPY HUNTING
BUNDLE CONTENTS (6)

  • Weapon Charm $3
  • Bulldog Coating $2
  • Nameplate Emblem $0.50
  • Vehicle Emblem $0.50
  • Armor Emblem $0.50
  • Weapon Emblem $0.50

So I would like to know why for only $5 more, you get 6 Coatings and a Vehicle Attachment. Is the color white super hard to make compared to blue? No. If we determine the value of the Coatings, then a single Wasp Coating must be worth 3 or 4 normal Coatings. The Tundra Pursuit Bulldog Coating is the same as the Buckshot Bonanza Coating, but blue. That came as a $7 CR 700 bundle with a Charm, Coating, and 4 of the same Emblem.

Are Charms $3? Are Emblems $0.50? Are Weapon Coatings $2? Are Vehicle Coatings also $2?
That would explain $12 for 6 Vehicle Coatings, $2 for 4 Emblems, so is a Vehicle Attachment $1?
If above is true, 4 Emblems for $2, and a Weapon Coating for $2, why is this single plain white Wasp Coating valued at $6?

The math shows Snow Bird should be a $7 CR 700 bundle.
Either that, or 343 is making up artificial prices as they go.

Edit: Updated with $20 FIRE AND FROST bundle estimates

3 Armor Coatings $3 each ($9)
3 Weapon Coatings $2 each ($6)
4 Emblems $0.50 each ($2)
Stance $3

Total $20 - So if you read this far, I believe I have the prices estimated correctly so far and just need data on Armor Attachments

We are on track to solving this store debate once and for all. We just need more data for more accurate estimates.

Comment below other bundles and attempt to extract a value from the items, so we can determine exactly what these store prices SHOULD be, and what they COULD be if we were allowed to buy items from bundles individually.

Knowing these prices, would you pay that for these items? $2 or $3 for that one Coating you want sounds pretty fair to me.

Attempting to determine the reason behind the Mister Chief price being $20 CR 2000.

Since we haven’t had an AI in the shop before, I’ll do it a roundabout way.

$10 - CR 1,000 - GREEN AND BLUE
BUNDLE CONTENTS (3)

  • Legendary Charm $3.50? (Epic inflation?)
  • Legendary AI Color $6? (Could be $5 if Charm is $4.50)
  • Nameplate Emblem $0.50

If a normal Charm is $3, is a Legendary Charm $3.50?
Then an AI Color would be $6. $10 since a normal Emblem is $0.50.

$20 - CR 2,000 - MISTER CHIEF
BUNDLE CONTENTS (7)

  • Legendary AI Model $7? ($8?)
  • Legendary AI Color $6? ($5?)
  • Weapon Charm $3
  • Epic Nameplate $1? (Epic Inflation?)
  • Epic Armor Emblem $1?
  • Epic Vehicle Emblem $1?
  • Epic Weapon Emblem $1?

Due to artificial rarity inflation, should I estimate an Epic Emblem is $1 instead of $0.50? That’s $4 so far.
Weapon Charm $3. Legendary AI Color estimated $6.
$13 so far, leaving Legendary AI Model at an estimated value of $7.

That sounds accurate, but due to artificial rarity inflation, this could have been a $15 CR 1,500 bundle without it. Updated my above post.

What makes me uncertain is the SWEET SUCCESS bundle

$7 - CR 700 - SWEET SUCCESS
BUNDLE CONTENTS (6)

  • Stance $3?
  • Epic Weapon Attachment $3.50?
  • 4 Epic Emblems $1 each?

That normally would be a $10 CR 1,000 bundle, but clearly the rarity artificial inflation doesn’t hold true, because it’s acting like these Epics are Rares, which would be $3+$3+$0.50+$0.50+$0.50+$0.50=$8
Is a Stance only worth $2? Are Epics not inflated? I’m clearly missing where 343 is getting these numbers and rarities from. I may as well assume that an AI Model is $9.

Also testing price estimates with MUD HOG WILD bundle

$10 - CR 1,000 - MUD HOG WILD

  • Mud Flaps Vehicle Attachment $1?
  • 5 Vehicle Coatings $2 each?

That would total to $11 which feels spot on for a $10 bundle

I don’t have enough data on Armor Attachments or Helmets yet to determine their estimated individual value, but since I have a feeling nobody is actually going to read this and care, I may not even bother.

This is info people wanted, so I hope that people read and share it. It should be discussed.

I already liked and commented on your post though. This post of mine is about trying to determine the value of individual items, so everyone knows why bundles cost what they do, and what they should cost individually if 343 let us buy them individually.

Yeah and it’s a really good one also!

While that’s cool its still too much.

And are store items rare? Like why is a blue store item less rare than a legendary store item?

Just seems a way to charge more imo. I hate the store and the prices, no way to earn cosmetics except paying. Sure you get a few small things from the BP but theyrr 90days long except this one.

Each set should be cheap like $2 or make it so you can earn credits or link them to service records/challenges and then they can charge more.

Either they make it cheaper or ways to earn. It’s nice you did the math but still not worth the time of day

It basically is. I see it as artificial value inflation. Legendary Coatings are one of a kind in a pack of 1, Epic Coatings come in packs of 2-4, Rare Coatings come in packs of 5-6, at least usually. It’s actually super annoying because it makes it such a hassle to get matching armors, weapons, and vehicles, with Epic and Legendary coatings. Legendary things always will cost $5-$8 each.

I would personally like an MCC rank system with rank up credits, that you can spend at the free shop. You could also get credits for doing well in multiplayer, from a slot machine like Halo Reach, as small loot in Campaign, in the Battle Passes, and by destroying items you don’t want. If you had an item before, and destroyed it, you could buy it back from the catalogue. This is something Destiny does, and since Infinite already took a bunch of ideas from Destiny, they may as well take a bit more.

It took most people several years to save up 2 million credits to buy Inclement Weather in Halo Reach, otherwise you were aiming for 200,000 a day for 100 days, blowing 10-15 hours a day. Impossible. Still, people earned that armor effect, so I say the Battle Pass grind is literally nothing. I finished it a month ago. There should be credits and milestone earnable free rewards.

I wish I knew how to quote stuff lol, but I agree I just think the prices are disgusting.

As for that reach thing I was one of those people who got everything, max rank and even had millions or spare cr.

But in reach I had many things to aim for, each rank usually unlocked something new to buy or I could earn cr and save it to buy armor or effects. I also had the service record to aim towards.

Even halo 4 and that had service records, I went after that armor for plasma pistol kills because it gave rewards and something to aim towards.

For me infinite doesn’t have enough stuff to earn freely or aim towards, like you mentioned there are plenty of ways to do that from earning them or earning credits. I’m happy to work for them, just not pay huge prices. I’d pay a small bit sure but not even close to their current prices

500 & 700 coin range ive noticed to primarly be Blue Rarity bundles
1000 & 1500 are usually purple/epic rarity
2000 are the only gold ones ive taken note of so far

I think the addition of rarity is the real culprit here cause the weekly/daily rotation as a concept implies a time and place for a certain thing to show up, giving it a sense of rarity(maybe fomo?).

Big ole But here, we dont earn or pick up anything else unless its from the BP (free or paid), theres no such thing as loot in halo. Its all just graphic prints and Tee’s simply speaking.

IF they did do away with rarity/quality, they could go the more pack based route and have a reasonable sized store to pick thru, but thats simply just them removing the rotating store. But then i think about the HSC offers and how that store button could change in the future to be specific event based purchases, bundles or specific kit load outs.

I dunno, Infinite as a whole comes off as a faux destiny(1) with all the misgivings and misunderstanding of customization, rewards and challenges. I could rehash other thinking points from my other post but it all feels like circles cause of this rarity/quality proposal that F2p takes.

I see the 500/700 daily bundles return pretty often, and I’ve seen the 1500 blue vehicles return once, so for the 2000 gold bundles like ZVEZDA, that might only appear once or twice a year, and even less often when more content is added overtime, making the rotation pool larger, so 343 definitely is abusing FOMO and has no intention of selling items as proper DLC or individually, without people rioting over it probably

Highlight text, press quote.

Go get them microsoft reward points. Been using them to buy Game Pass and XBL for years. I also throw any extra into cosmetic stuff such as a battle pass.

Just giving you a like. I love when the forums get “mathy”. =]

Halopedia has all of the known bundles so you can use that.

Blockquote
and attempt to extract a value from the items, so we can determine exactly what these store prices SHOULD be, and what they COULD be if we were allowed to buy items from bundles individually.

This honestly seems to be part 343 “UI problems”. Had a glitch maybe a week ago where the images didn’t load in the store and so the store was basically just a grid catalogue with tiles that read “2,000 bundle”, “1,500 bundle”, and so on. I think 343 may have hamstrung themselves by designing their store to only having a rotating 4 types of bundles based on price instead of just having a catalogue of single items or a catalogue of every bundle available.

Ah I did try that but guess my phone cant do it, only does single words.

And I do MS rewards but I’m saving them for better and more worthwhile things like gold, game pass etc. I’d rather new games that an armor set

No, we are not, because what we say, think, suggest, etc… doesn’t mean diddly squat. Upvotes are as far as this will even go because at the end of the day it’s the very poor leadership that is making the calls, and poor leadership leads to poor development.

You aren’t wrong, but at least with this data, we can attempt to prevent 343 from making up prices for future bundles. That said, they’re still making up artificial rarity prices, and tripling the prices for literally a white Wasp and white MK VII coating. Maybe we can sway them to sell stuff individually at least if we know the values of everything.

From where I stand, they need to back up their own words. Making small adjustments are not going to cut it.
