7 needles from a grunt mech killed ultra wraith?!

Because his needles don’t go after the vehicle, they attack you inside the vehicle. That’s why a supercombine can kill you inside, you slump out, and your vehicle looks fine.

Also, like the Warden’s black balls, it will follow you everywhere, even in circles.

It’s annoying. I understand they need to be hard to kill, but it’s annoying. Not really playing WZF anymore. #nofun

Yeah, those needles can be pretty annoying especially when you’re in a scorpion. Does anyone know how many WZ FF wins you need to complete the commendation?

last two tiers are 40 wins, then 60

If you’re in a Wraith or Scorpion or any other large, slow-moving vehicle, do not get within range of his needle attack. I’ve been torn to pieces by two supercombines in a Tundra Scorp with me and my gunner both running Wheelman. Don’t even bother using Banshees because the needles are basically unavoidable even with rolls and flips. I’ve seen them fly past me as I’m doing a flip then suddenly supercombine 5 seconds later because the needles literally did a 180 and hit me in my -Yoink-. So yeah, they’re a little OP. A lot.

Yep… twice…Once I was in a Hannibal mantis and once in the banshee ultra, with no damage, not on fire or even smoking, and the needles he fired out of the top of goblin instantly killed me.

Thanks. I’m closing in on the 40, but 60 wins is going to take a while. And a lot of tanks.

Yeah, if you don’t have the ability to move your vehicle in or out of cover effectively, it’s not good to go up against the Grunt Boss in a Vehicle.
Then again, with how accurate his regular needles are, it’s kinda also a -Yoink- on foot.
I mostly pull turrets and stand back and lay on the lead. It’s worked okay so far.

You think a 180 is all they do? They are relentless

The goblin does have two sets of needles.

The same ones as the Talon of the lost and the ones tailored towards destroying Vehicles, tho they both make a pretty job at turning a tank into swiss cheese.

I think it’s good we face an opponent with that much power. That way you’ll have to understand that the mistake is all yours, by exposing yourself. I have too often fallen prey to the needles he fires but only because i didn’t consider my safety equally as much as my desire to have him killed. Play it safe, let infanty do the up, close and personal stuff.

I lost a full health Corp scorpion to the grunt boss in under a second.

Reminds me of Warden’s death ball.

I never even bother trying to take that thing out. If the enemy wants to try and get that tedious 100VP have at it.

What, you don’t enjoy bullet sponges that take ages to kill but can rip through your heavily fortified tank like tissue paper that has sat in an unflushed toilet for about 24 hours?

FUN ENEMY DESIGN

I think its more painful when its a Phaeton with Wheelman Armor mod…

There’s a difference between exposing yourself and having an enemy that has weapons with ridiculous tracking. If you’re on foot yeah it’s easy to get out of the way of those because the tracking is not too bad and walls get in the way. In those clips by others they are quite far away and are still being hit; that’s really absurd. It’s also quite damage spongey. A few fixes I would personally recommend is reduce the tracking on the anti-vechile needles and add armor weak spots like the knight.

Exactly. It’s a difference between real challenge and -Yoink- challenge. That super attack is relentless in its tracking no matter how far away you are. And really, higher level vehicles shouldn’t crumple as easy as lower level ones. Further, especially in Apex 7, you have Knights to worry about.

Yup, needs to be tweaked. Its ridiculous. At least give us a chance to realize that massive damage is coming our way. Give us a chance to get out of a flaming wraith to spawn something else and avoid death (which involves a 30 second wait time at the minimum…)

You have to snipe at the Goblin, the further you are from it, the less damage you take. For instance, when I’m inside a tank halfway across the map, his needles can actually still reach me and supercombine, but they deal almost no damage… the flames on my tank don’t get any bigger, even when he supercombines me 10 times in a row.

screw the halo rings. the needles from grunt mech is the real weapons of mass destruction.
