in halo CE, the assault rifle had held 60 bullets in one magazine. On legendary that still wasn’t enough to drop the shields of an elite.
In Halo 3, odst, and reach, the assault rifle had 32 bullets in one magazine.
So the question is, how many bullets do you want in the assault rifle in halo 4?
When I first saw the name of this topic I was like “What?”
Ummmm… I’d say 32 because then it intergrates better with melee. Just make it more powerful that’s all.
Wasn’t it confirmed that the AR has 32 bullets?

I saw a vid about it or something.
Canon Perspective
It makes more sense to use a 32r clip.
In Halo 3, we had a 32r AR, how would Chief’s AR magically transform itself?
Oh wait…
Gameplay Perspective
If the AR is as weak as it is was in Halo 3, give it a 60r clip.
If it is stronger with a faster ROF, give it a 32r clip.
Buff it so that if you can catch a BR user off guard and you know to pace your shots, you will win with a 32 round clip.
Ha! 60 isn’t getting any love.
I kinda feel like the AR is a good place right now, sometimes it feels overbearing and other times it feels too weak, so I’d say it evens out well.
Feels good like it is, the BR though is another story, is it going to take landing 4 bullets or 4 full bursts to kill, alternatively will landing 2 burst and 2 bullets afterwards kill or bring shields down?

Where have you been?
The BR has confirmed to be a 5-shot kill (5 burst kill) like the DMR
I assumed they were returning to the 4 shot kill.
But what I’m saying is landing only part of a single burst going to count as a full burst of damage or is going to fraction the damage of a single burst.

Not sure
Probably something the lines of landing 1 shot out of 3 in a burst will do only a fraction of damage.
While I love the Assault Rifle in Halo 1, I think the 32 bullets would work better for the weapon in Halo 4. The 32 bullet versions of the weapon tend to be a lot more accurate than the 60 bullet version, allowing the player to use the Assault Rifle in a greater amount of situations. It also allows for the return of the SMG, which acted like the Halo 1 Assault Rifle.
Having both the SMG (which will hopefully return) and Assault Rifle use a 60 round clip would be quite redundant.

Yeah, I think the same way
