Quick question. Is the game charging $60 just for the campaign, without co-op? Considering the multiplayer is free.
I’m wondering where the value is here. Have they announced any other modes or features that come included with that $60 price tag? Perhaps free access to campaign DLC? Anything?

Story mode is a paid mode in any game that you play…this topic has been beaten to death on these forums. How else would 343 pay for the actors, animating, studio audio, etc to be put in the game…$60 is totally worth it.

I don’t frequent these forums. Also, I’m not here to argue what you think the value of a campaign mode is. Seems steep to me cause you buy CoD for $60 and get Campaign, multiplayer, zombies, and other stuff.

COD is $60 for Campaign. Warzone is free. GTA and RDR2, paid campaign and free multiplayer. This is also a live development game. The initial campaign isn’t even the final product of the campaign as they will be adding DLC to further the campaign over time. Some of which may be free and some of which will be paid.

Warzone is a whole separate game. Black Ops comes with Campaign, it’s own non-battle Royale multiplayer mode, Zombies, and Dead Ops Arcade.
Read Dead and and GTA are full open world RPG single player experiences. You can’t really compare a mission based FPS campaign to that.

Halo Infinite campaign is a complete different experience. Get it or don’t. If it’s not to your liking try on Gamepass. My question is what the hell is a COD player doing here lol? Dude should be banned for even comparing.

Good lord are we still doing this? Are people only allowed to play one game?
Btw Halo Infinite is still mission based it just lets you run around an open-ish world state between them. Ight, I’m out. Super quick reminder of why I left these forums
campaign only, - no coop, - no forge, - no exp progression by simply playing the game, but dont be disappointed yet, theres microtransactions and a battle pass from day 1, that will keep you busy according to 343

op isnt questioning whether campaign is/should be free or not, he wants to know what hes getting for 60$
It’s really too soon for me to pre-order if the rumors are true that the campaign is short then it isn’t worth $60. On the other hand if it gives me forge along with a good campaign and maybe even a third mode I would gladly pay $60 for that. If it is $60 for a short campaign and no story DLC then I have a hard time believing they’ll sell many.

I feel like you’re very much in the right, asking this. Yes, it really does seem like they will be charging $60 for just the campaign. They have said thus far that the game is larger than the previous two games combined, but considering that the game is open and not linear, that should be expected of it. I don’t think that having twice as much area as say Halo 5 will actually mean twice as much gameplay. So I’m also having a hard time justifying the $60 for the campaign myself. weapon045 likes to point out that they do plan on adding more content to the campaign after launch, but there is practically zero chance that there will be significant additions (i.e. another campaign, or even just another few missions,) without us having to pay for them. Arguing that there will be more content after launch is pretty irrelevant to the discussion of the campaign’s value, when you consider that we will surely have to pay for the expansions/ongoing content.
If 343 was actually going to give us more free content after launch, they would have announced it already, given all the terrible press they’ve been getting recently.

Why are you stepping on the OP here? He’s totally within reason to be questioning the value of paying $60 for just a campaign of yet to be determined quality… I think OP is just trying to point out that this seems unsavory. I don’t think we are required to always be happy and excited with whatever 343i gives us…
I’m personally disappointed that there won’t be coop campaign at release, and that omission makes me question the $60 value of the game.
Well last time I talked about this I got my head bit off.I don’t see why the campaign is 60 bucks, yes I know it supports 343 and all that but we know nothing and haven’t seen anything that shows they have worked on it.No Co op,assassinations, there is just alot of unknowns

No, it isn’t. If you buy the game, you get co-op.

You get the full campaign for $60, why would you get anything else? They might release some free campaign stuff though, especially if the multiplayer is making big revenue.
I know you’re being facetious anyway, please give it a rest. Games have been releasing for $60 for years now with single player only.

You hit the nail on the head. Games have been releasing for almost 16 years at $60 a game now…and that is for games that are much less played and have a tiny following…You are lucky the games industry hasn’t bumped the price since then. Games could easily cost $80 a game with inflation after the last 16 years.
They’re already launching it with missing features, and tbh I’m not expecting the campaign length to be higher so it’ll be interesting how they justify the $60 with no multiplayer to help it as part of a package.
I think a large part of what we’re paying for is the novelty. It may not exactly seem ideal since you’re usually playing for more than just campaign with Halo, but they’re realistically not going to sell a newly released triple A game, and the company’s flagship at that, for less than $60. I imagine/hope that future stories released on the Infinite platform will come to purchasers of the game for free to make up for that.

I would ask them where does their flagship game have any power in response to that, cause to many halo hasn’t exactly performed like one for a while now. Typically when you take on a title like that you tend to be able to perform. I mean, play stations uncharted 4 sold 15 million + for ps4, halo hasn’t had that in a good long while now, not to mention it co competes with gears of war as Xbox’s best exclusive at this point.
if Microsoft wants to advertise halo infinite as a flagship game, I’d hope it has more to its campaign than your typical 8-10 hours from your halo games since multiplayer isn’t even part of the package anymore.issuing features don’t help either, but like I said, I don’t think halo performs as one to begin with.
the only reason why they’ll sell for $60 is cause every other AAA game does, that’s about it really. No reason to go less unless your AA or indie level or you have it on sale.

For real, people getting annoyed about the game being $60 when games are more expensive to make then they ever have been and haven’t gone up with inflation. Developers and shareholders have needed to monetise their games to keep the base game cheaper. Same people would be in uproar if the game had no battle pass or store but cost $140 for everything.
Its really impressive to see topics genuinely asking if the game is worth $60 and people coming in here like “just shut up and buy it? Are you not a real halo fan”
Although I want the game to have coop at launch no matter what, it would be nice to at least hear 343i say “hey we don’t have coop or forge yet but we do have xyz offered along with the campaign to give value to your purchase”
