6 Pedals, 4 Directions

That’s what driving the Scorpion feels like. It feels like it doesn’t want to cooperate with you when driving. It just seems to want to resist moving sometimes. Then it splatters someone. How does that even work? Maybe if you’re using the thruster pack, but I’ve been splattered just trying to board a Scorpion. And with the new mobility options, being boarded is so much more common. The Scorpion (and even the Wraith) sometimes feel like they’re not even worth the REQ points. (And if you didn’t know, the fifth and sixth pedals are apparently for space and time.)

Well, you could always ask Sheila to run the tutorial program.

I wouldn’t do that. Friend fire is enabled.

You shot Church you teamkilling -Yoink!--Yoink!-!

Scorpions are one of the only vehicles that feel the same as ever to control to me. Like they haven’t changed. Warthogs and gooses feel strange to me still.

Really? Because to me, the Warthog feels normal and I don’t use the Mongoose enough for it to make a difference. I only noticed the Scorpion feels somewhat different because I was playing the other games and something felt different. I don’t know what, but something did.

The only time I find a scorpion useful is when defending the core and NOT moving. Being stationary in the back destroying the right or left side from intruders.

EDIT: when I move I get hijacked, even in the back of the core…

Did somebody call me?

I hate the splatter system. I get splattered trying to board a Scorpion going 2mph, but I can hit someone with a Ghost full speed and it only takes their shields off.

I also agree about the Scorpion’s controls. You want to go in a certain direction, but you end up going in the complete opposite direction.

Vehicle boarding and splatter mechanics have really regressed this game. And the Ghost feels like it’s weightless and being driven under water. Go over a dime and it will flip and stick to the wall and take 2 hours to straighten itself. It used to be so much more athletic and tight in H4.

Vehicles in general are just really weird in this game. Maybe 343 will offer a canon explanation for it.

Scorpion feels the same… it’s the Mongoose that drives like -Yoink-…

Sheer frustration. The scorpion really sucks in this game…

The driver really should be able to jump out when getting boarded…

Ghosts really need help. …uhh, what??

Maybe your wires are crossed?

Well, damn.

My logical analysis sector indicates that this is highly unlikely. And my -Yoink- meter agrees.

Aw man I’m the team killing -Yoink- -Yoink!-

I find the Scorpion to be more effective when you don’t move very much. Easier shots, and if you are in an area with lots of allies (Next to a base) it is alot less likely to get boarded, or even shot at for that matter. I was in a tank for 5 minutes on Stormbreak camping by our only armory. I wasn’t ever shot at but racked up a buncha kills by a narrow sightline straight into the Fortress door. It wasn’t until I moved and was hit by a Laser that I ended up getting killed.

Try using a tank to sit around in the back of a group of allies. Does alot better when you have teammates to help you and when you don’t have to deal with the controls.
