53,000 people watching HCS right now

It looks like a good map so I’m positive they will include it.

I’m more interested if we will be seeing koth back in HCS.

Construct KOTH was such a fun one to watch. Always crazy plays. I sucked at it though.

I mean, the HCS tournaments have always had higher viewership, this is nothing new

The peak viewers for a lot of H5 biggest tournaments was under 80k people so it’s great to see Halo Infinite putting up strong numbers so far already.

Hopefully it continues.

I believe the plan right now is that KotH it going into ranked matchmaking day 1, and then it’s going to be un the rotation for the next major.

I don’t know if it will start being in minors right away. It should be nice to get a tad more variety into ranked and the tourneys

Wonder what maps it will be on.

The commentary has got significantly better over the years. They’ve all grown into it and found their own voice.

The games seem a lot closer than previous titles. I wonder if it could be due to a strong aim assist in this game. I know my accuracy is better than previous games.

Although, just watched Ascend v Pioneers!!! What a game! More please.

I actually think aim assist is lower than in any previous Halo game if I recall. Or at least the last few, way less than Halo 5 but that’s because that had the advanced movement.

I think the games are probably closer and more teams are actually really good than previous titles due to the sponsorships. Teams are now sponsored and paid wages, so they can actually practice and play regularly and in a more formal environment. More incentive for them to do well/stay signed as their jobs depend on it.

It’s probably a bit more corporate too where as older teams may have had a laziness or complacency about them. I feel like everyone resigned themselves to losing to Fix/Splyce.

A lot of Halo pros previously were probably part time or full time workers elsewhere, now they can focus all their time and energy onto Halo.

Also just feel like the maps, gametypes and gameplay are better tuned for fun competitive games with comeback potential.

Literally only leaving Twitch in the background at low res with now sound specifically for Drops because I don’t have time to sit and watch the game, but I love the skins and charm! Who’s with me?

(Is there such a thing as non-weaponized FOMO? In other news: Store isn’t FOMO for me. I just buy stuff that’s cheap because it looks cool.)

Insane game of Oddball. What a series.

That no scope on bat ledge was so unbelievably sick :joy:

Awful behaviour, felt like the game just flipped after that. The pros are absolute filth on that shock rifle.

There was no pool play for the Kansas City Open.
None at all.
Localized brackets determined who entered there.
No pool play.
But hey, defend something you have no knowledge about.

This many people just watching people play Halo Infinite, but apparently according to most of the fanbase the game is “dying” despite me and all my friends being able to get matches in just about any playlist in under a minute.
Sick of people calling Infinite a dead game. All they ever point towards to back themselves up is the Steam ratings because Microsoft doesn’t show the playerbase for the games on their consoles. Nobody ever mentions how the vast, vast majority of the playerbase are on Xbox- Halo is the series that MADE the Xbox, after all. And crossplay is enabled between all platforms. So how "dead’ can the game really be? Or are people just pulling stuff out of their -Yoink!- to dunk on the game?

It’s called being “seeded”. That’s pretty much how all eSports tournaments work.

Seeding takes place based on teams skill/ ranking in prior tourneys.
Again, a system in place to ensure the same teams end up on top.

That was Microsoft’s plan… investment will eventually bring better players to the table.

I just feel that between the aim assist and bullet magnetism it’s easier to get perfects in this game than it was previous.

I don’t think that’s a bad thing though. When it comes to competitiveness a big part of Halo is all to do with Team work and movement.
