If it takes you 20 matches to get up a single level in this battle pass, then the issue here isn’t that it takes too long. It’s you for not doing challenges along the way.
And if he’s out or has hyper specific ones? Start looking past the first couple days of challenges and open your eyes to see how bad this is. Plus, you only get 20 weekly challenges per week and about half can be completed day 1. This is broken
I’d be curious to know what weekly challenges you have lined up for the future.
I agree that they did nerf them somewhat, but I have a challenge to get 15 kills with the Ghost’s turrets in PvP.
This challenge I think is a great example of what should have been tuned in the recent update, given the rarity of the vehicle itself in Matchmaking as well as amount of kills required.
Increasing to 100 XP only serves to help every player - I don’t understand why someone would advocate against that and request that it remain 50 XP as opposed to 100 XP?
Not saying you are doing that here, but I have seen that elsewhere and I’m just at a loss why some players are requesting it be less, as if it somehow benefits them more than 100 XP.
They think because the bp lasts 6 months then it should take that long to complete. Real backwards logic, I know, they’re very anti-player. But most my challenges now are tied to weapons now that I personally hate like the Disruptor, destroy Wasps, fusion coil kills, etc. Not hard, but I have to go out of my way and hope I get a map with one of the items… which they’re almost ALWAYS taken first. So I don’t have any passive ones anymore, so unless I dedicate my time to trying to farm a Wasp or get lucky with a cross map save I’m reliant on that measly 50xp.
Honestly, just because a handfull of weeklies were made stupid easy doesn’t mean halving your match xp is okay, and some of these “players” just don’t get that. They want you to literally make Infinte your main job, it’s disgusting and infuriating.
Well said - I’d be curious to know what adjustments may have been made earlier this week if they did not extend Season 1. Probably the same…
And I can’t help but highlight you saying this - given they spoke about how they hate when a Battle Pass feels like a job, and yet here we are.
I appreciate you and everyone for continuing to speak about the current Progression, because I know 343i can do even better. We all just want Halo to be the best it can be.
50xp for completion, 50xp for a win. 100 per game is a crutch that the bad players want to finish this battle pass months early.
The people who want flat 100 per match are the same people who will complain there isn’t enough to do in this game come February.
Do challenges, play the game and have fun. Dopamine is a momentary high, stop chasing it so badly
The problem with this free-to-play system is that they don’t want to give free players anything. They just want free players to feel as if they’re getting something. 50 XP per match feels like steady progress but in reality it’s so slow it’s barely noticeable.
At this point I think it would be more honest to just put everything in the store for money and not pretend free players get anything. It just frustrates people.
Holy crap how wrong this is. We don’t want to live in the game and play ONLY this. I can go play Forza and play 2-3 races and level up, I can play some CoD and do it in 5ish matches. And there’s MANY others that don’t throttle your xp to a halt. 20 games is insane and you are insane that you think that 10 GAMES IS TOO FAST! WHAT!? Like man, you seriously have to be trolling with such a backwards take like that.
Bro get a grip, if you think it’s gonna take you 2000 games to get the pass finished you need to apply some common sense to the situation.
Challenges = more XP
Exactly, we want it to be fun. And the base game is very fun, but playing hours on end and seeing little progress is so disheartening. And to the other guy, who cares if we complete the bp in a month and a half? It’s just cosmetics so we can play however we want and look how we want without having to grind something we don’t want to do. Like it’s not a crazy concept, MCC is literally just like that.
Bro, you aren’t listening. You can run out of challenges in the FIRST COUPLE DAYS. Then all you have is 50xp… am I talking to a wall?
I feel like the math done in the initial post was done wrong, the way it was previously set up was 400xp every 10 games and with the new system it’s 500xp every 10 games… That’s still 20 games for a single battle pass level which is still way to many but technically it is faster just not by enough…
I agree though, I thought it was going to be 100xp every match and still think it should be at least that.
This is exactly why sometimes you just ignore the community and see how things go for a few weeks.
Then say what you mean and ask them to give you a free skip button to max level. Who cares right? It’s only cosmetics. Get good and level up at the pace the game sets. Buy levels and quit whinging.
Holy -Yoink!-, I’m not gonna pay to level up kid. Why would I give money to a game that doesn’t deserve it? You are what is wrong with current gaming with a response like that.
Ps, companies aren’t your friends, stop defending them
It has the opposite for some people. I’ve talked to some people (and I feel this way personally) who feel that because the XP system isn’t engaging, they have less reason to care about it. And since they don’t care about it they’re less likely to buy a boost. For some people when you monetize too much, they stop caring, hence stop paying.
Holy -Yoink!- child, you are on forums whinging about fun being tied to a battle pass. If you need a battle pass to have fun in this game, this one ain’t for you. Go play something else
I’m a lifelong Halo fan calling out bs in one of my favorite franchises. Not sure if you noticed, but most people agree that this is too little reward for time played. So get out of your sweat chamber of grinding a single game and look at the bigger picture. Christ…
Part of the of the fun of Halo games for a lot of people is unlocking stuff. Which you’ve been able to do since Halo 3. Being locked out of unlocking things, and having a very slow unengaging unlock system takes away that aspect of the game, and hence takes away some of the fun. It doesn’t mean the core game is bad. It doesn’t mean people can’t still have fun. But it does mean part of what people used to like about the series isn’t there, hence they’re not going to have as full of an experience.
This right here, thank you. The base game is very good, just the extra features are pretty lacking.
