A few sites are reporting that infinite could have a budget of 500 million dollars.I dont buy that.Halo is no where near as popular as it used to be and if they dump that much money in to it,they wont make that back
So far I’ve heard it’s a rumor. If they truly are putting in that much money and this much time into halo infinite then it has the potential of being one of the most expansive and expensive video game to be made.

To me if that number is real that seems like they are making it more then just a fps, which is unfortunate imo
If it has that big of a budget, I sure hope it launches with more than 3 playlists

I see what you did there
The figure came from Xbox Dynasty in Germany… I don’t know much about this periodical, but from what I’ve read, they aren’t the most trustworthy source for leaked information. If the 500 million included marketing, then maybe that could be more believable, but even the most invested in games usually don’t come close to 500.
Destiny was said to also had 500 million dollars budget, maybe it will be like Destiny.

That’s what I fear

Just because Halo supposedly has a similar budget doesn’t mean it’s going to be anything like Destiny.
I’m SUPER hyped if this is true!!!
Even if Halo Infinite has a budget of 500 million, what’s all the complaining for? One it’s not any of our money so let’s not even start to tell Microsoft to be more fiscally responsible.
And second this large budget would mean a lot of work is going into Halo Infinite’s development, which would should lead to a better game. We could all try being a little more optimistic about our favorite franchise.

Exactly! Along with with that would come a huge marketing budget, who doesnt want more Halo…
With a budget like that it is sure that the marketing will be quite loud, and even if it doesn’t earn back doubt it will be by a lot.

I was going to agree that it may just be unsubstantiated rumors, but after doing some researching and learning that Destiny had a budget of 500 million, so I guess it could be possible.
Then I researched some more and found that that was the amount invested by Activision into the game, which is most likely different than the game’s budget. The highest budget of any video game ever was Grand Theft Auto V at around 250 million, that’s half the price of the alleged budget for Halo Infinite.
so here’s my theory: 500 million may not be the budget of the game, but it might be the amount that Microsoft is willing to spend on the game overall for whatever life span the predict the game will have, and the high 500 million price tag is due to the game being a “live service” style game, meaning that they have to take into account the beginning production of the base game along with all the updates and add ons that will be included in the live service.
After considering all this, 500 million dollars total investment into a game isn’t all that far fetched, especially considering that Halo is Microsoft’s biggest video game IP.

Nobody is complaining.More money doesn’t necessarily mean a better game, look at destiny 1 and 2
The only reason I get worried by that number is because of the recent stuff about Infinite possibly adopting the “games as a service” system. Those rumors combined with the Destiny comparison sound like a recipe for disaster.
If I still had fingers, they’d be crossed…

Microsoft dumping money into a game doesn’t mean that game is popular. I mean heck, Activision dumped a boat load of cash into Destiny and allowed Bungie to keep the IP when they split.

That’s all a rumor. You never know, but that seems like far too high to me.
i heard about that budget! there is no way! that would be insane!
Maybe it is true as the investment into the slipspace engine would be included in these figures . The fact that 343i have said the engine is going to be in use over the next decade or so just like the blam engine was for nearly 20 years
