50%-60% off sale on all DLC

Since I hear 343 is trying to keep H4 up to date the best they can. Some time around H3 becomes Free for gold or right before X-mas vacation, I think it would be wise for them to have big sales on H4 DLC. I am not saying this for my personal interests. I do believe how ever most the people who buy DLC get it in the first month or two. The rest that play H4 with no DLC probably just dont want or cant spend that much. Anyway I dont see why they cant at least do this for the Map pass DLC. When its after a full year of the release date and so many updates in that time frame.

I don’t think the price of the DLC maps are way to high. I just think 343i could capitalize on a well timed sale of anything they can offer. Considering the population could use any boost it could get, it wont hurt. I dont expect this would have a dramatic effect on the DLC downloads but it will bump it up a little.

This is something Halo 3 never did and after the DLC got to be one year old or more, I think it started to create a drag on the players. Sure people still played Halo 3 but they ended up playing more of the same maps over and over. It just ends up being a never ending downward spiral. To have a sale or a mark down in DLC price at that point would have gave it a nice push. Both the current DLC owners and the new DLC buyers would benifit from.

and by the way, H3, HWars and ODST are so old now. Its time to mark down the prices on that DLC, come on now. I mean each one of their DLC costs more than the game its self.

halo 3 will be free for gold members?

Sometime before the end of the year.

I agree with you. This weeks bulletin stated they are once again retooling the weapon settings, adding skulls to SpOps and making the Majestic maps pack required for Slayer. just those facts alone will bring players back to see what the game will be like and if they give players a chance to get a discount on the DLC more people will get them. If they do this right we could see a huge influx of players coming back to the game.

All DLC comes with GOTY edition, so I don’t see the individual DLC being discounted much, if at all…

I agree with OP. Smart business move across the board and great for the future of Halo.

And to the guy above me, think about what you just said. This is for the people who haven’t bought DLC but own Halo 4 (in many cases)…

But I agree, BRAND new people will likely pick up GOTY… but that doesn’t make the sale invalid (actually it adds business synergy if anything).

It doesn’t matter how old a game is, the DLC is still going to be the same price < answer to your last sentence

But on the guidelines of having a sale of Halo 4 DLC, why not, it’s a little treat for the community and allows more people to have the DLC to play on which means better chances of being matched with people who have the packs

Don’t see why not but it’d be unwise to coincide it with the release of GOTY, would just make GOTY worse value for money at the time.

Are we 100% of the H3 thing? Last I heard it was proven to be AC2 instead and then there was zero news on it afterwards.

DLC maps should be discounted for those who didn’t purchase the map packs. Especially given the forthcoming DLC-required playlist.

Let’s get the maps out there and used with regularity!

As for Halo 3 being free for Gold members… can someone source that?

I would like to have 50% off Majestic next week!

Halo 3 will become free before 2014, I saw the livestream of the Xbox One and they said that

GOTY edition doesnt come out until october

Perhaps this might help.
No specific dates, but it is going to happen.

Well, when you think about it not really.

Especially since they’re releasing a GOTY edition of Halo 4 with all the DLC included. If people are going to buy a brand new copy of Halo 4 because they haven’t bought the DLC that would mean they’re only buying it for the DLC content and the Pre-order bonuses.

With DLC discounts on the Marketplace why would you pay $50-$60 when you can get the DLC for significantly less on the actual Marketplace? That would leave the Pre-order bonuses as the only incentive to buy the GOTY for some people.

I mean, those helmets and skins are nice but they aren’t really worth the price of a full game. I can imagine them doing DLC sales in the future but anytime near the release of this GOTY edition? I doubt it very much.
