That number is actually conservative it’s actually more than around 50,000. So damn, the multiplayer population has more than doubled since Halo Reach hit the free games with gold deal. Even the least populated playlists have more players in them (Arena, Super Slayer, etc). This is great
It’s fantastic! I just hope it lasts for a good while.
It likely won’t. Halo 3 had the same numbers and only lasted two weeks before reverting back. Granted 3 doesn’t have the same customs as Reach…
The Reach population counter shows totol players online. Not just MM. Those player numbers are in the individual playlists.
A lot of those 50,000 will be playing campaign, firefight and customs as well.
Miraak520 while agree with you about Halo3 i think Reach may last a little longer due to the fact it has better graphics than halo 3 and still looks modern, it has Armour Abilites that are very attractive to COD players and younger players and also has a more active current population than halo3 did when it went free on gold.
So fingers crossed we should see some good numbers till the release of Halo MCC.
For a Thursday morning, 44,000 players is pretty good. I know Reach and Halo 4 don’t count their populations the same way, but man, giving that game away for free … it’s totally crushing it.
Which is nice for Reach, since come Nov. 11th, that number will drop a lot. Except for those who will still pop in occasionally to play a few matches (like me) and those who have yet to get an Xbox One.
I’m gunna try and get on this weekend several times and next weekend for sure. Seeing populations more full will be good.
Maybe SQUAD BATTLE will be a full playlist again! YESH.
Rack up the stats folks!
The population at 11am Saturday melbourne time was 76,113!! This is awesome but the server just went down, I’ll just play some firefight or something till it goes back up lol
Awesome!
I need to get my disc working again!
I had played Reach a little, by that I mean very little, when it was first released. I just downloaded it again to give it another shot. I’m a big Bf3, and Bf4 fan. I look forward to giving the multiplayer on reach a try. The campaign has been fun so far. I’m glad to hear there are several players still active on this title.

I thought you were joking until I saw the matchmaking population for myself. Reach has been very quite recently…
I think the title being free for gold members has sparked the interest of both new and old players. Like was said before, I hope it lasts for a while.
