5 Things Halo 6 Needs To Make It A Great Game

1, More map variety, Halo 5 seemed like it had many maps that revolve around a central point and you can run around the sides of the map and not worry about what is happening to the left or right side of you. I like this layout but it was on multiple maps in Halo 5, also the setting of many Halo 5 maps seem like it is in some industrial complex, they also need more variety with setting in the 4vs4 maps. 343 designed BTB maps would also be nice even though I like the Forge maps. The other issue is a total lack of map variety. Slayer in Halo 5 has had 23 maps but currently , 17 343 designed and 5 forge maps. Currently it seems like only 10 maps maximum are in the Slayer playlist and it’s even less with Team Arena.

I think Halo 5 should have at least 15 original 343 designed maps at launch and 10 remakes for 4vs4.

  1. A new Warzone game mode that is 100 vs 100 at least. Since they are not having a battle royal game mode, they need to have a huge team battle game mode.

  2. Do not allow full cross platform play, anyone who is at least an average FPS player and anyone who has played PC FPS a lot and has a KDR of 1.1 or more is gonna have an edge over a console player, even if they are really high KDR players like 1.5-3.0. Console players should have the option of playing with PC since it will be a live anywhere title and the next Xbox will likely have full mouse/keyboard support for all titles. Console FPS game PC ports often suffer with player numbers, look at Battlefront 1 on PC, it is dead while console versions still live. Same thing has happened with COD games. This is why PC players should not be allowed to play with a controller for multiplayer since it will divide the community too much. Vast majority of PC FPS players are on PC because they prefer mouse/keyboard, I do, I only have Xbox One X due to my love for Halo games and Halo 5 being my favorite Halo of the series.

Battlefront 1, console versions have 1000-2000 online 24/7 while PC version is below 200 24/7.

  1. Better armor customization

  2. Anti hacking system for PC

1, while I do agree map variety is a great thing, you could make do with just 10-14 unique but well-designed maps. Halo 2 only had 12, for example, without DLC. Drowning people with 15+10 maps is just… Unnecessary.

2, They already have that and it’s called Warzone. They don’t need to add anything because “Oh well they needed a BR mode so they need to add a mode that’s already in pretty much every BR game!” isn’t a viable excuse for anything aside from being another way to shoehorn in some other game’s idea that really doesn’t play nice with Halo’s setup.

3, Eh. I don’t have an opinion one way or the other on this.

4, Duh.

5, Duh. Even the console version already has this.

Also, can we stop naming these threads “What Halo Infinite NEEDS to be awesome!”? It’s always eye of the beholder stuff. Someone should make a “What people think Halo Infinite needs!” megathread or something.

I Agree with Catten that you can have good variety with less. I think 343 needs to swallow their pride and realise they’ve released games that had a mixed reception at best. Take a less is more approach and deliver a fundamentally sound game with the essentials, all the big games recently have one mode of play, variety is a feather in Halos cap but its been spread too thin and can be done smarter.

As for 100v100 Halo has had population problems and i doubt such a mode would work well with Halos health, weapons, vehicles, map design style or pacing anyway. A standalone game ODST style with only that mode would work better imo.

I agree with your first point. I don’t mind the 100 v 100 thing but the maps will have to be really large then…

I’m definitely with TheCelticDragon. Infinite needs to reassert a strong, succinct sandbox into the mainline Halo series. Ever since Reach, the Halo sandbox has been spiraling into weirder and weirder extremes that mess with the feel of the games. Map design is just one symptom of the problem.

  1. Agree, I’d like around 20 4v4 maps with a good balance in themes.

  2. I want WZ back if it’s greatly improved but 100v100 is madness. I’m thinling more like 20-30 on each team.

  3. Agree, cross play is welcome as long as it’s optional.

  4. Agree, H5 was severely lacking in that department. Plenty of armour sets to choose from but a lot of it was just reskins and you could only customize two parts, that’s a rushed system if I ever saw one. From the sounds of it, Infinite’s system will at least be better than H5’s.

  5. I would sure hope they have one, you can’t expect a MP game to do well on PC without at least something. From job listings it looks like they will have something.

100 v 100 is very unrealistic
