> Well first off, “spawn protection” for any amount of time is just going to delay your death if your opponents are good enough to predict your respawn correctly or rotate around the map quick enough. They already know exactly where you are in a game with hitscan precision weapons… you’re gonna die. Whether you get shot off spawn or half a second later, a death is a death and you’ll still be at the respawn screen.

> Also, according to waypoint you haven’t played any swat at all since the spring 2018 season. Kind of interesting considering you just finished up a night of swat
Waypoint logged me into my old account, so whatever recent games I played aren’t going to show up here, and I tried to switch it to where it shows my current one, but I couldn’t figure it out.
However, you’re missing the point. Maybe to a silver, gold, or plat SWAT player, the half second spawn protection wouldn’t make a difference because they wouldn’t be able to think quick enough and have enough map knowledge to get out of the way.
When you say “delay your death if your opponents are good enough” you basically admitted that a half second spawn protection would make a difference if the opponent wasnt good enough, or if the person being spawned was good enough to get out of the way.
In SWAT, half a second is a long time compared to other game modes. Maybe you haven’t ’ played swat at a high level, but having played with all sorts of diamonds, onyx, and champs, there is no doubt that have a slight spawn protection would increase the balance of the game, and saying that it would make no difference at all is just ignorant and a huge underestimation of how good players are. It’s pretty much a universally known fact that spawn killing in swat is a problem, epecially on maps like The Rig, Colesieum, and Plaza.
Example: yesterday I got an killtacular on Plaza, and 3 out of 5 kills were spawn kills. My first kill I was sittin at window and killed a guy who was at snipes. He then spawned in the exact spot I first killed him so I killed him again, then his teammate spawn in that same spot so I killed him, then like two feet away, the guy spawned again, then the last guy I killed was just a guy who went up lift. So did I capture it via Xbox DVR and upload to YouTube and show off what an amazing killtacular I got and beg ppl to smash that like button and sub? Of course not.
Im fully aware that the killtacular was unfairly gotten by me because I know that three of those kills the dudes had 0% chance of fighting back or getting out of the way, which sucks the fun out for both me and them. If one of those three instances the player wasn’t able to be killed directly as he/she spawned, they could have easily went down the lift, down the snipe ramp, or fought back and then that would have prevented me from getting a what could have been game changing killtacular. But according to you it would have made no difference at all. Yup, because that’s what onyx and champ players do when they spawn. They just stand perfectly still and don’t seek cover or fight back if a person is about to spawn kill them.
