In a few short days the entire Halo community is gonna get the opportunity to either watch or play a game that we all are eagerly anticipating. There are around 250 teams attending this event, the largest in years. If some of you are on the fence, or don’t care well here are a few reasons why you should tune in.
It is an extensive first look at the game without having to deal with the painful over-the-shoulder viewpoint that we have had to deal with over the past several months. The presentation that MLG brings to the broadcasting and streaming experience is second to none, plus the casters and commentators are very knowledgeable (or in Puckett’s case INCREDIBLY entertaining) about Halo in general. There is going to be around 24 hours of live streaming over the weekend which is going to help this final weekend go by much quicker.
If you have not watched MLG in the past and only had to deal with the cruel posers that run around thinking they are good, you will finally get a chance to see some pro players demonstrating why they are pro. Hell some of you may find one who relates to you and become a fan. Events are what the MLG community live for and this event is probably the most important one in the history of MLG Halo.
You get to learn more about the game. This means what weapons are good in what situations, and how the maps play. Who wouldn’t want to learn more about all these beautiful maps? We are all going to get the opportunity to learn callouts and what parts of maps are best to hold and where are good opportunities to push or flank. This will help you come opening night when the rest of the world is seeing a lot of this game for the first time.
It’s gonna be vanilla-ish. If you are concerned that it is going to be unfamilar to the regular game don’t worry. They are planning on using Infinity slayer in all it’s shiny new glory. This has been a big complaint of the players who don’t like MLG. Cause it doesn’t look like vanilla Halo. Well at least this event will have a lot of the extras in it. They have to find out what is broken before excluding it, and since they are just getting the game they don’t have to opportunity to test it out. So together we will all witness the things that probably don’t belong being exposed and abused so finally the people who hate on MLG will see why we strip it down. But hell who knows?, maybe the game will play great and we will keep some things we might have not let stay in previous games.
ITS FREAKIN HALO EARLY!!. Who would you want to miss out on the most amount of gameplay (24 hours) given to the public in such a small amount of time (3 days). We are all Halo fans and Halo 4 looks incredible on soo many levels. This is a great opportunity for all of Halo fans to come together and enjoy watching a game we all are pumped to get and play the crap out of. This could be the event that some of you look back and say, this was the event that got me to look at Halo multiplayer in a way you hadn’t previously.
MLG Dallas begins THIS Friday, November 2 at 5pm Central Time. You can view the event at mlgpro.com
Don’t miss it. You have absolutely nothing to lose watching this event and soooo much to gain.
Im looking forward to it, i dont play MLG anymore (use to in 2/3 but not in reach) but its hopefully going to be info overload!
Are they using Infinity slayer or Slayer pro? Watched a great video from BravoMLG saying he hopes they use infinity and then decide what settings should be removed for MLG play!
I just wana see what AA/loadouts the pros choose since they know all of them, will be interesting to see what combos come out of this.
Seriously though guys even if you aren’t a fan of MLG, please drop by the stream and give it a watch. This event is very important to the lifespan of competitive Halo in MLG. We need anyone’s support who is willing to give it. This is about more than competitive vs casual, this is about our communities co-existing and spreading the word that Halo is back!
I think many of you will find that the MLG community has started to make a shift into being a much more accepting and open place. Having Halo knocked from the circuit was a humbling moment and made a lot of players band together to try and save the community. At worst you find out you really don’t like it. At best you become a fan and a community member and that’s what we are hoping for!
> Great read thanks:)

Well the rules have come out and mention infinity slayer, plus they have mentioned KOTH and oddball.
Since there is not going to be radar I would guess that most of them are going to use PV since they really don’t know the maps all that well yet. Yes though, I agree this is gonna be amazing to watch and see if some players choose other AA to mix together to create “roles” on a team. Going to be great to watch.
> Excellent post Zenith, well done.

Thanks!
This event is going to become legendary I believe. There are more teams then I can remember playing at an event, and clearly more than Reach ever got. The atmosphere is going to be electric and I really hope everyone gets a chance to tune. I mean common, Puckett is gonna get back in the booth. The guy is a legend and awesome to listen to.

I’ve already seen hundreds if not thousands of gameplays, I rather just play Halo: Reach untill Tuesday. ;p

That’s cool, no one is forcing you to watch it. But I would be willing to bet those “thousands” of gameplays you say exist (which don’t) are probably not of the highest quality (both in terms of video quality, and gameplay). Plus hey! you aren’t playing it now right? I’m just giving you another option for when you get upset at the random bloom and broken AA in Reach:)
> Not an MLG fan but I’ll watch some of it just because it’s new Halo 4 MP footage from the final build. And that’s always a good thing.
Heck ya man. Who doesn’t wanna watch new MP gameplay?? Plus we know that everything is final and what we are going to have to play and deal with on the 6th, unlike a lot of earlier MP gameplay where it all got changed throughout the development cycle.
> One quick question, you may or may not know the answer.

Infinity slayer will be the gametype used. Which is wierd cause I would have figured slayer pro lol
I’d like to see some new gameplay, especially from “pros”. The previous Halo 4 gameplay from MLG pros has been pretty poor, so I’m curious to see it in a more competitive environment.
