One week after the release there were players with the headless hack in SWAT. I’ve lost track of how many I’ve reported and in the past week I’ve run into 7 more. The last one was two games ago and at least the player’s name was ironically accurate.
Now every time you’re in the lobby you have to scan all the player cards before voting but that still doesn’t stop the hacks from JIP.
There’s a lot of -Yoink- broken in this game and it has been since day 1. I just want 343 to fix their game.

Well I’m pretty sure Bungie’s games are also prone to hacks. It’s pretty much impossible to completely stop people from cheating in a game. They patch one, another one shows up. I mean, popular game developers are not the only ones good at programming…stuff. It just becomes stale when another one of these threads turns into a 343i vs Bungie one. All you can really do is keep reporting these people.

That’s b/c it’s our only option. I’ve read in other forums that the headless hack is such an easy exploit with 343’s code that it just begs people to use it.
Solution is simple. 343 could create a board to report these players. They show up as headless on their player cards and let 343 fast track this to Microsoft.

I’ve only seen this hack in one game so far so I guess I’m the lucky one! I don’t know anything about coding or computer programming therefore I can’t exactly give you a good solution or tell 343i how to do their job. Just try not to make this a Bungie vs 343i thread since we’ve had too many of those already.

Not sure if completed stupid or…
343i is a joke as far as banning modders, from what I’ve seen. Bungie swung the Banhammer pretty swiftly, but the only thing 343i like doing is taking swings at the quitters and the playlists.
Ah MS should just start banning IPs instead of accounts and xbox’s, nothing stops them from just getting another xbox and making a new account.People are going to cheat, and it needs to stop.Hopefully the 720 will detect the irregularities that the mods cause to data and act accordingly.

both wrong.
Well Ichabod, I wouldn’t lose your head over it.
Stop insulting 343 and claiming Bungie is better cause you dont know that because Bungie isn’t working on Halo 4, they are working on destiny. also do not expect a developer to fix a game like magic regardless of how long the game hasn’t been out for long

Well said!
You see that rhymes!
But never saw or encountered this hack…

They do this b/c it’s easy and they know they can get away with it.
Just like in Halo 2 where you could mod tanks into sanctuary. O and control the spawns of your enemies. O and make ARs one shot kills. The list goes on and on. Just like Bungie with H2 343i is still learning it takes time as a company especially a new one no matter how experienced your staff is.
Edit: You need to take the GT off your post or you risk getting a ban here.

You DO know that 343i is comprised of many experienced devs from other AAA online titles riiiiiiiiiiiggght?
You also do realize how easy it is to ban these headless spartans riiiiiiiiight? Like someone said, just make thread about it, report them, 343 checks the player card and voila, banned.
No offense to you but every time I see someone use the “its their first game” excuse to let these easy & manageable fixes slide, it just makes me sad to see how low of a standard is now set for the halo franchise.
Well it dosent matter how experienced you team is if the heads don’t want to deal with it they won’t. Now is the Online head the same one that MS gave to Bungie. I don’t know do you. The MM team could make an email to report cheaters but will the development lead spare the man hours to deal with it? These are all question you must ask as well.
It’s not really all 343i more of a MS as they are the parent company and obviously don’t want them wasting the man hours on it. When you can use those to make Halo 5 or new maps.
If you don’t know what man hours are its the time a person would have to dedicate to something.
Eg: if it takes 8 hours for two people to read all emails and send reports to MS. That’s a loss of 16 man hours
Edit: Plus its a loss of money if they spend more hours doing this then making the next game or DLC
Its simple, if the dev’s aren’t willing to spend any man hours to find a solution to their ever growing MOD problem, I think that shows how much they care about the quality of their game.
Not to mention we’re not even 4 months into h4’s lifespan and they’re already devoting man hours into making h5, rather than solely focusing on making h4 an overall enjoyable experience.
Yea, we can all say that there fixing some things here and there, but honestly, these things shouldn’t have been in the game to begin with.
A secondary weapon with more range and equal power to the shotgun? lolwtf?
Instant re spawn so you can quickly kill the enemy that you just fought against? or maybe even continue your double, triple, over kill streak? lolwtf?
Complete lack of playlists and their organization? wtfseriously!?
The list goes on, and on, and on like an energizer battery. And yet 343, the guys that said “we get halo” cant spare the man hours to fix their game.
