Hey all. I recently posted this http://www.omghomeblend.com/details.php?cid=112 article for a friend’s video game site. Please note that it is satire, it is supposed to be written in the style of an idiotic clueless gamer. Yes it does poke fun at Halo in a couple places, but please don’t be offended by this as I love Halo as much as you all, they’re only jokes. I just wanted some of your honest feedback to whether you found this an entertaining read or not, as forumites are always brutally honest!
How can you post “5 Improvements” about a game no-one has have the chance to play yet?
I swear Most people are just un-satisfied on the great idea’s and improvements Halo 4 is bringing.
The first paragraph made me hurt so bad. But i read on anyway and honestly. your friend sounds like he’s 12. I’m just sorry but it does sound like it. the ONLY good idea was exploring chief’s character which is what halo 4 5 and 6 will do. So painful to read.

The improvements I want for Halo are basic fundamental fps game improvements like:
Wider FOV (90+ degrees)
Aiming Reticle centered on screen (instead of below center, Halo is the only fps that does this)
60 frames/s
Less auto-aim / aim-magnetism
Smaller true-to-image hitboxes (particularly a smaller headshot hitbox)

While I agree with the first two, 60fps is impossible to do with Halo 4 with its graphical and sound quality, it looks like it pushing the 360 to DirectX 10 (The 360 was built for DirectX 9.0c). COD runs 60fps, but its graphics, sound, and probibally physics are crap because of it, and I wouldn’t want 343i to make that sacrafice just for that. That’s why we need new consoles, these consoles just don’t cut it anymore. PC’s are up to DirectX 11 (I do have a gaming PC), and devlopers are chained down by technical constrains because of working with 7 year old tech
As for auto aim, it did increase in Reach, but I still think that Halo as a whole has the least amount of auto aim than in any other FPS, mostly because you can’t spin in circles and kill everyone without trying.
With the hitboxes, In Halo (This includes Reach), the hitboxes are as about as true to image as you can get without making the “hitbox” sculpt around the asset. In Reach, and I have tested this, the hitboxes don’t seem true to image because of bloom, combimed with bullet magnetisim (which was up the -Yoink!- in Reach)
Wow its quite sad how similar that was to a hater post even though it was just a joke. He even had the ‘contradicting himself’ part in when he said he wanted more realism then immediately went on to talking about having duel wielding return.

Dual wielding is out for the time being, Halo’s Dual Wielding was very flawed and broken.

The minute I saw CoD I immediately disregarded whatever else you had to say. I have nothing against the games but when people try to use aspects of CoD and compare them to Halo I think it’s ridiculous.
