5 great ideas for Halo 6!

There’s a million things Halo 6 will need ofourse to be successful, and recently I’ve been discussing with my fireteam some things I believe Halo 6 desperately needs. So let me share my ideas:

#1 Elites need to come back and more…

Yes, obvious I know. Still, it will always be on top of the list. Number 1 on the list also includes Split Screen, Perfect Story, Duel Wielding, Offline Play, System Link and so forth. The enormous demand for this speaks for itself.

#2 Forge map generation

This is an idea I came up with basically means that in Halo 6, fort must be similar or better than Halo 5’s forge, but next gen 2.0. To make maps feel more authentic and aesthetic, the entire map needs to generate from forge mode to realistic appearances after being generated. Once a map is generated you can see what the map looks like in the final product. This is already being done but only for light baking and colours on objects. Halo 6 needs the whole map, made of a million pieces, to generate and feel like one.

For example, let’s just say you create a map full of foliage. You use all the default pieces (Halo 6 must have 1,000,000 more pieces than Halo 5) to create you map and everything is cartoonish. Once you save and generate the map, differentiating concrete from foliage and so forth, the map looks a lot like something from overgrowth.

343 has already taken small steps in this direction by adding textures to blocks including over layers (such as frost or rust), but this needs to be taken to a whole new level. Also 343, on a trivial note, please let us have as much foliage in Halo 6 as we desire without any framerate issue or crashing. Thank you.

#3 Bubble shields and jet packs etc. need to come back! Thrusters and Spartan charges and most other abilities in Halo 5 need to go.

Can anyone say that the majority of their kills, especially via melee, have been ultimately successful thanks to Spartan abilities such as Thruster Pack, Ground Pound, Spartan Charge, Hover/
Stabilizer?

Probably not. These Spartan Abilities need to go away in Halo 6 without a doubt. If they do return, please I would personally like to see them as an option and a preference if so choosable, rather than a mainstream game mechanic. Ground pound should also have a lock onto to target option. Currently, at the present time you might not realise it but these particular Spartan abilities affect Halo in a silent but negative way and needs serious revision.

These following abilities however have been considered highly useful to 99% of players:

Clamber, Slide, Smart Scope (weapon zooming in) and Sprint. Actually, the fact is these aren’t even considered abilities, their just common sense ideas (particularly sprint and clamber) that don’t make a person powerful, just swift in movement.

Bubble Shields and other iconic Halo 3 equipments also need to make a return. Some Reach equipments need to return as well. I like Armour Lock, but it doesn’t have to be in Halo 6 (while different topic) but the majority of equipments need to return. My suggestion to 343, if they really want to make players feel powerful, I suggest combing some of Reach’s Armour abilities Halo 5’s Spartan abilities to combine the ultimate super soldier. Perhaps all of them could be combined but also limited to the player, for example the suit needs reloading to manage handling certain things at certain times. I don’t know. SOne thing just needs to be done about this. I don’t want to play another Halo 5 style game and remain annoyed and disappointed. By the way, do thrusters generally save your life? Can avoid that one grenade? Or do 70% of the time you just use it as a way of reaching the next ledge and travelling faster across a map? (I suppose it could be in Halo 6 for that reason, but other creative abilities and methods need to be used)

By the way we can talk about this all day. I just wanted to present a rough idea of this suggestion.

#4 Halo 6 needs every single map remastered from every other Halo game combined in to one package.

I wouldn’t categorise each map like in the MCC, every map just needs to feel at home in Halo 6 with new graphics. Even adding multiple versions of a map is a cool idea (for example you can choose a remastered Halo 3 Pit or remastered Halo 4 Pit).

This idea alone will make Halo 6 the biggest, most diverse game in history at launch. Possibly. Halo 6 also needs its own special maps with unique names to compliment their awe appearances.

#5 Extreme Customisation

I could’ve mentioned this at number 1 but it’s a whole different issue on its own. Being able to customise your elites and Spartans will impact your love for Halo 6 more than ever. I strongly believe that all Armour pieces need to have unique powers/attributes/qualities and values given to them other than just for appearance sake. Everyone in the whole world knows being given the choice to create whatever they want makes them feel special, and care about their character. We also want every piece of our body to be customised the way we want i.e. boots, shoulders, wrists, fingers, torso, helmets, visor, legs, knees, elbows, materials, etc.

Weapons also need better customisation. (I loved Fallout 4’s weapon customisation). We need it in a way that doesn’t affect the game but brings a positive impact on the player and the world around them (Sortve like Halo 5’s WZ customised weaponry does but 100x better).

Gosh I can say a million things, I have tons of cool ideas. Let me know yours if have any and maybe we can get the game we want.

I don’t know if any of these things would be possible with current gen hardware. Any one alone maybe , but definitely not all in one package.
1 is obviously possible ,
2 is a resource hog ,
3 uhm no , just no. Abilities , equipment , whatever started the slippery slope that got us where we are. Also some of us hate sprint (BTW , I LOVED the jet pack , but it broke most maps) ,
4 , again a massive amount of time and resources for a lot of maps that didn’t get voted for or played very often
5 , special snow flake stuff is subjective. IDC , one way or the other.

That’s just a shopping list that cries for nostalgia and extreme catering. Instead of reworking what they have, 343 should simply work up the good and the bad.

  1. Less armor variants and keep the helmets that most players would like to wear
  2. Sprinting has a charge so you don’t run constantly
  3. No spartan abilities except clamber
  4. No smart-link which adds to 3 with stabilizing
  5. If you use the thruster, you use up your sprint charge

I think my one request above all, is just a good story. Maybe if I had to add old art style.
