The OP posted in Sterling (£). The £4.31 is inclusive of all taxes in the UK.
It’s $6.00 here in the USA
I kind of like it but that’s too much for just one armor coating that doesn’t even work on all armor cores.
I did buy that nifty Sherbet orange Rocket skin though. It is mine and you can’t take it from me
Plus, the coating is damaged and dirty. If I’m paying money for a coating it should be new.
I agree with you, it makes me even angrier when many of us predicted this happening. A reminder below of what 343i said about the new system.
We’re not sitting around thinking of ways to take things away from players - no developer is. We’re focused on building systems that can allow for better player expression. Yes, that required a tough call in this case, but we are excited by the system’s overall potential !
Hot paying for anything else, I spent £10 on the reach pass and can’t even get the security helmet.
It’s a pretty sweet looking coating.
If it was brown instead of blue I’d be all over it.
Different strokes for different folks I guess. I mean, I have no interest in this weeks shop items, but the cyberpunk colors I bought almost immediately as well as the neon beat pack the following week. As much as I hate paying for stuff, it’s hard to resist trying to personalize your character in a game you like to play.
Nope, and it worked cause I bought it. Andddddd I instantly regret it.
It wouldn’t be so bad if I could save my customization for different mk 7s but you can’t even do that.
I’m holding out hope for an black/ gold armor or vehicle/weapons that matches the rockstar promotions.
The HCS one is too clean looking, I want my armor to look like it’s been in the field. Too bad we have no ability of customization.
If a cool colour was $3 and cross core, I’d probably buy it. I’m never paying $5 for a colour that’s going to lock me to a single armour core though.
I have said it many times, I’ll say it again.
Bots can crosscore customize
Only reason we aren’t allowed to is because of the store
Why do you complain. I dont understand. Are you poor? Why dont you want to buy blue and gold 10 times over halo infinites lifespan for all armor cores , another 8 times for weapons and another 7 for vehicles? Why dont you just sell your kidney to buy even more stuff? Jokes aside free to play is not bad its just 343 & microsoft wants to milk the halo fans for all their worth. Fortnite sells a coating for all weapons and vehicles for 5 dollars. Destiny allows you to buy any armor coating by just playing the game and use that coating on any armor or weapon. See why ftp aint that bad? Its just that halo infinite’s monetization is just anti consumer because they just don’t care about the people who support them. We’re just piniatas filled with cash.
I mean, it kind of is. If the game wasn’t f2p, we would’ve gotten a full game at launch, not drip-fed content.
This.
They could’ve made a perfectly fine f2p model and still made plenty of money (remember, they still have the campaign and any future DLCs.)
Have most of the content unlockable by grinding, or, you can buy money and skip the grind.
I do not buy or will buy anything because I am totally against this monetization system. I haven’t even bought the battle pass. I like to pay for a complete game with everything it has to have.
I could spend extra money if I enjoyed the game so much and it worked so well that I wouldn’t mind thinking, “I’m so happy I’m going to give Microsoft a few bucks.” But this game works badly, very badly. and I get bored and angry every day.
Of course I will leave it, as soon as I find another one that works well and I have fun.
I also didn’t pay for anything in Gears or Destiny. Battle passes and micropayments for absurd things seem like an indecent business to me.
On the other hand, I don’t think that this lengthening of games over time will satisfy any gamer. Last week I went back to Destiny, which I left off in Season 2 and they’re now on Season 15 or so, and it felt like the same old thing and I dropped it again. Video games are dying of a long illness.
It’s amazing to me that 343 thinks it’s okay that bots have more customization options than actual players.
How does your spartan look without the battle pass?
Do you feel like the true f2p customization experience (no BP, no shop) is along the same lines of what you expected before the game released?
Do you think the free to get stuff is good or do you think it incentivizes someone to spend money for more customization?
I’ve been playing Halo for 12 years.
I just never expected Halo to be F2P. For me it was a disappointment.
I remind you that in previous Halos you had a thousand ways to customize your spartan with the objects and armor included in the game, you didn’t have to pay more money.
The appearance of my spartan is basic and at most it has something free or obtained in the challenges.
No yeah I was just curious 'cause I don’t know what customization looks like if you didn’t buy the BP. I was thinking there was already barely anything (when looking at previous entries) in the BP, so the free unlocks must just be even worse.
Crazy that this is the latest entry in a franchise known for this stuff, you know, making a cool spartan.
You know also, in previous Halos, you wore armor that was related to your achievements (some very difficult). You felt proud to wear a specific armor. Like a Hayabusa in Halo 3. Also in Reach there was a very interesting progression of armor by achievements in multiplayer.
Now you just have to buy it.
Yep, that’s another thing. Might as well just equip the campaign chromas since those are the most expensive in the game!
That’s f2p now unfortunately. Ruins the gaming industry imo
