So as we all know halo 5’s population is rapidly decreasing as players are slowly getting tired of the repetitiveness of the game or because of games that are wheelbarrows full of juicy content eg: fallout 4, blops3, starwars and the nearby fresh batch of backwards compatibility games coming out very soon. If halo doesnt suprise us with something AMAZING this game will be dead before they know it… not to mention that i cant find a game of FFA at 6pm in Australia. Anyways. Here is 5 ways i personally think 343i can boost the population of halo 5 that im sure most of you can agree with.
1. Talk with the community 343!!!
343 barely answer our damn questions!!! On twitter ive seen multiple people asking questions on behalf of the whole social halo community, questions such as “will there be infection soon?” Or matchmaking issues just imagine 343 responded to the infection question with something like “i cant answer that question coughcough” OR SOMETHING, ANYTHING… just communicate with us regularly and give us a reason to stay dedicated to you guys.
2. Daily and weekly challanges
i know many people have said this in the past but its too good not to include it. Daily and weekly challanges that rewarded both XP and RP would give players a reason to start up halo. It also has a very important benefit. It cuts down grinding warzone 24/7 for gold packs.
3. Double RP on special occasions
Instead of giving us a stupid turkey emblem you could have given us a double RP day. People would play for 8 hour sessions to gather 16 hours worth of RP and open up legendary reqs. This only goes for 24 hours remember. So it doesnt destroy the whole unlocks : sr rank ratio. Giving people the opportunity to gain double RP will no doubt boost the population.
4. Hints and easter eggs (my own idea)
if i was working for 343i something i would do to generate hype would be to add small notes in some multiplayer maps that had 1-2 words on them and if all of the notes were found and placed together it would read out something like “infection is on the way” or some crap like that. If this did happen, new youtube videos would be uploaded hunting for the hidden notes on the maps and trying to decipher the code threads on way point etc etc.
5. Add a fungoose
its basically just a regular gungoose however instead of shooting out explosives it shoots out confetti with the grunt bd party sound effect. It will make many of us happy.

Halo needs a lot, sure, but it’s better than battlefront. That game is not a wheelbarrow full of juicy content. It’s a wheelbarrow with no wheel. But the problem is the lack of game modes. No social playlists, no infection or koth, no true assault, no forge, coughsplitscreencough This game needs to catch up to halo 3 before they can even think about adding new stuff.

I 100% agree. And when did halo 3 come out? Like 2007? Compared to a 2015 AAA
Sorry to say it but none of those would increase the population, the only things that will are adding more playlists and getting the word out there that they are adding more playlists.

Yes however what are the chances of 343i adding in a social playlist and then announcing it to the public. It would probably bring halo back in the top 10 most played xbone games bit the chances of 343 pulling off such a thing is next to impossible.

First and foremost, through actual experience, how are you, OP, able to tell that the Halo 5 population is so low as to warrant a worry post about said population?
I say this because I simply am able to find A LOT of players to play with and a handsome amount are random that have mics as well.

Its not so much the hate its just the lack of a better alternative in my opinion
Fair points, but customs can hold a nice pop. Forge seems to be in top of its game (assuming the hypes not another lie) and if they add the game types WITH options, people will stick around. I know this for fact. Once the players ‘customs guy’ leaves due to frustrations, they leave. Certainly true in my experience. To keep those custom players there would need to be a custom search to find a new ‘customs guy’ which would instantly need to provide fun/working maps/gtypes, which would require a voting system. Don’t think that’s going to happen. So keep the original custom guys by providing the goods to start.
