Yes basically this.
Look at it this way…in Reach most of those wouldn’t even count as assists, and you still wouldn’t have gotten the kills. So your stats would look worse in previous games. In Halo 4 it really doesn’t take much damage to earn an assist.
u get a sweet visor for mastering assists so I wouldn’t whine… And I have over 3k assists, get on my level xd

I have the Sunspot visor too, it was worth getting assists for it.
It doesn’t take very long to get either with the consistent rewarding of the assist.
Assists are great. Especially when you’re a driver paired with a good gunner and rack them up by driving in such a way that you survive a long time and get a lot of vehicle kills.

At least you get a medal and some points. I don’t mind getting assist. Although it took me a while to complete the assistance commendation. I think I just completed it today in fact (and I have over 5000 kills).
Just aim for the head and you’ll get your kill you’ve been craving for.
I’d rather see an assist streak over a death streak, regardless of how many i coukd get in a life.
it keeps the team alive, so its something. at least they kept it consistant so that you woukd get something anyways.
Be glad you’re putting shots into so many people. Now if you’re on a killpocalypse and you go for the 10th kill and get an assist I would be angry. I would down right flip out, but assist in general are a good thing.
I know its good to get assists, but I hate it when I get around 12 assists and 3 kills. Usually only get one ordinance drop which is trash, and I die about 14 times…oh yeah its great to be a support player.
“+5 Assist” is spam on my screen. You get an assist for firing 2 shots at someone. Annoying to see. Useless to know.
