Having played a lot of warzone and watching some videos by players like Nas, I believe that most of the warzone maps favor red. I am not sure why 343 would do this, as some maps are blatantly unfair. Here are the maps and the approximate percentage of winning that red has, assuming the two teams are equally matched. What do you guys think? Think it’s coincidence?
Raid on Apex 7 - <70% Red All you need to see
Also the second legendary and mythic bosses both spawn red caves/base, so an easy 300 points usually.
Attack on Sanctum - 60% Red
Red has faster access to the top of temple, as well as an easier entrance and better “hole clogging”, meaning if red controls top it’s about impossible for blue to get inside temple.
March on Stormbreak and Battle of Noctus - 55% Red
Red can run out the doors before the base is secure, which gives a distinct advantage in close games, for control of tunnel/monument bridges
Escape from ARC - 55% Red
I would argue that red has a slight advantage in terms of capping the garage. Red has better entry points initially and more cover in going to garage.
Skirmish on Darkstar - Even
This map is pretty even in terms of everything.
I think it all really boils down to the fact that Warzone wasn’t designed to be played as a competitive mode hence why the maps weren’t designed completely equally. Most of what you said above is minor anyway (excluding Apex 7 which does favor red heavily). It’s too late at this point for them to rework the maps so there’s not much we can do.

Competitive or not it is still two teams fighting and one has an advantage. The maps not being made equal because it is not competetive is no excuse for bad map design.

Not really bad map design at all… Casual maps are designed to make the game more interesting for players, which making slight variations can achieve. If the map looks and feels the same everywhere its going to be a lot less appealing to players. I can see why you wouldn’t want that in competitive play, but for casual it matters much less.

I don’t mind some variation, but when the variation impacts the game to a point where one team has a decisive advantage that’s different. Like if on Apex Blue had easy access to the bosses instead of red it would make up for the very hard Spire cap.

Fair play at the very least for the map is detrimental for a multiplayer game casual or not. Casual does not justify one team having a distinct advantage over the other. It matters just as much.

That’s not fun game design.Losing is not more interesting especially when it’s because your side is unfairly favored and when you combine that with the fact that warzone is brutal when it comes to snowballing this becomes even more painful and less attractive because not only will you be losing but you’ll be getting spawn killed in the one armory you have.
I really don’t think H5 was meant to be fair. From maps, spawns, spartan companies, the req system and so on. What was done about farming? I don’t remember. Only 343i knows why advantages were set to be exploited but I know it caused some of my mates to leave H5 completely.
This game from the top to bottom is unbalanced. It was a cash cow, Microsoft saw those juicy utters and yelled at 343i to pull, and they did so oh so graciously. Thanks for all the content 343i! Glad we got the full game 2 years later, really kept me on my heels when it came to new “free” dlc and wonder why more games don’t do this. Next Halo they should offer just the box and cover art for $60 and then give you the actual game as “free dlc” that cost them tons to make over the course of three years. Screw it, just reskin guardians multiplayer, no one would be surprised if we got less maps and even less map rotation that we currently do. Why not change the name as well, I’ve been thinking of a really good one - “-Yoink!- 6.”
