In the past I was playing in 4k mode on my Xbox One X and 4k TV. As of today 12.27.2017 Halo 5 won’t switch over to 4k mode automatically. I’ve tried other games just to make sure it’s not my system or TV. For example The Witcher 3 automatically switches to 4k HDR mode when started, as well as Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Is there an unknown/unpublished issue I don’t know about?
And what’s the ETA for this fix if there is an issue?
Why don’t you set the xbox to 4k instead of 1080p? I have mine set at 4k.
I tried that, but it still didn’t register in true 4k. Two or three weeks ago it was working just fine. I have my xbox set at 1080p so that games that don’t have the 4k update doesn’t look like crap. Destiny 2 before it’s 4k update while played in 4k mode didn’t look very good unlike in its native 1080p setting at the time which looked decent.
How about your TV. Do you have a game mode you have to switch to when playing 4k games? My One S would automatically switch but I have to go into the TV setup to switch game mode off and on. With game mode switched on it lowers the resolution on the games. With the One X I finally just leave game mode off on the TV and don’t have to mess with it.
Is there any way to know if your Halo 5 game is playing at 4k?
