I was looking at the milestones on the Halo Career thing and noticed there are way more achievements than I thought. I have 406 achievements, and thought I had only 2 more to go from spartan assault. So where are these other 55 achievements from? They’re not from H2V, H3, ODST, Reach, CEA, Wars or CEA and I only have two more to go in Spartan assault…

With SA they count the Windows phone and Windows 8 achievements separately.
Hmm then that would only account for 25 of them. And I’mm assuming 360 and XbOne lists will be different too?
I have 431/463 at the moment (missing 2 from Halo Wars). I don’t think the Spartan Assault achievements are going to be separate from X1 and 360. I think Waypoint has updated to include 30 achievements from Spartan Assault, but I would double check all your Halo games as you should have a max possible of 433 achievements.
The only logical explanation I can think of is, that it are the XBOX ONE achievements for Spartan Assault. Because that will be exactly 30. This explains the “463 achievements overall” shown in Waypoint, while until now only 433 are obtainable.
The XBOX 360 version of Spartan Assault will have 2 achievements less, accounting for 28 achievements. Those achievements are not yet reflected in Halo Waypoint, meaning the overall achievement number will increase from 463 to 491, when the XBOX 360 version of Spartan Assault will be included into the overall Waypoint achievement statistic.
343i needs some way to consolidate these achievements for SA.
I was so happy to have the max Achievements for every Halo game.
Well I would advise you to get your hands on the hardware needed to get all the different SA versions achievements, then.
Because I honestly do not believe that someone will change the achievement setup for SA as it is per now.
I for one have all Halo achievements in existence, but I installed Windows 8 on my PC for that and I got my hands on a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone for that.
I would highly doubt that they would “consolidate” the achievements and if only because people like me would be very, very unhappy if we did all that achievement hunting for nothing.
You can’t deny the elitist nature of this move though. Think about all of the completitionists out there who can’t afford any of that expensive Microsoft hardware. It’s a good job I realised achievements were worthless years ago.
EDIT: Looks like the Waypoint censor took the dollar sign out of my "Microoft" haha… now that’s ironic.
