Is a 9 hour ban really necessary? The last one I got was 45 minutes which is understandable, I quit the game so I deserve the cooldown. But getting disconnected from a game and being banned for 9 hours? This is complete bulls**t. The penalty should be losing double the rank you would have from losing the actual match if you had completed it. This just feels like 343 wants to push people away from their game?
what the people on here complaining that they got banned dont understand(including you probably) is that there is a delay from when you quit to when you get the ban. ive noticed this and because i only quit when getting destroyed its not that bad for me. but thats probably the problem is that this delay confuses people

There is definitely a delay. I’ve only ever had one ban. It happened a few months ago. I quit out of a bunch of JIP BTB games, then one Arena Slayer game. I didn’t get banned right away. I completed 3 arena games first then was banned for 45mins.

i personally think that anything JIP should’t have the ban rule. and actually right now i cant even play because its saying something like we cant find a server for your fireteam…if its not one problem like a disconnected with their servers its always another problem. i think dedicated servers do more bad then good

Stop quitting… You quitters claim 343 is pushing people away from their game when you quitters are doing the same thing. I would rather have a low population of players who finish games than a healthy population of you quitters. I won’t even play the 4v4 playlist because of players like your self that quit games.

the thing is that there is no way(that i know of) that the servers can tell if your getting disconnected or just quitting yourself

Hahaha you say in your post you quit the game! Sorry between your quitting and your “disconnects” you have racked up long bans.

before halo 5 came out i never thought they would bring back the ban system just reduce req points or derank someone who quit

Which makes way more sense, instead of implementing a system that can’t tell the difference between someone who is innocent and someone who is actually guilty of quitting

For all the people who can’t proper read and understand what the OP is trying to say:
The Gap from a 45 minute ban to a 9 hour ban is beyond stupidity. Especially if you are considering the pattern. a few seconds, 8 minutes, 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 45 minutes and then… BAM… 9 hours 
It’s not about quitting, it’s not about if he quits or if he gets disconnected. It’s just about the gap in time.

I do agree with coll that the system itself is flawed beyond belief, but this in a nutshell is why I created this thread, simply because it makes no sense.

If you quit the other game has to finish first before you get the ban to what I understand

Right, but it makes no difference if you were disconnected as opposed to actually quitting, the problem still lingers in that you are being punished for something that is not your fault.

I got disconnected and they gave me a 5 minute ban lmao…ive never seen a game with so many issues
