4 Shot Kill BR

Almost everyones favorite weapon in Halo was the BR. After E3 a lot of the people who played the Halo 4 realized the DMR was better than the BR. I don’t think that a lot of people would that. So the best was to fix this is to have the BR be a 4 shot kill. The gun was always meant to be a 4 shot kill because of it 36 round mag. 3 x 12= 36, 4 go into 12 3 times. So You could kill 3 people with 1 mag if you were good. If its a 5 shot kill and it hold 12 shots you can kill 2 people and have 2 spare rounds. Thats why the DMR was changed from the Reach Beta to 15 rounds instead of 12. So I hope 343 fixes that because they did say their still warming on the BR, DMR, and Carbine. Also the BR will fell more like past the Halos. Overall this change will make everyone who loves the BR happy. Also the BR was the weapon that go the most kills out of all the Halos. Which proves it’s the most use weapon. I got the info about the BR being use the most for Bungie.net.

I don’t think we should be trying to balance a game that hasn’t been released. But that’s just me.

Yep, it was basically pointless to pick up any non-power weapon because of the BR being a utility weapon. In all honesty, I don’t like utility weapons. Whether the BR ‘needs’ to be a 4SK is debatable, though I’m fine with it being a 5SK

Ω

If the BR is a four-shot-kill, then the DMR will be rendered useless.

To my knowledge, the kill time for the DMR would still be faster than the BR if it was made a 4SK.

Not at long range

OT: There already a million post like these. Not to say your opinion isn’t worthy but it’d be a lot better to post this in one of those

That and the BR has spread, DMR doesnt. BR is also a burst shot gun, so to get kills you have to ensure every bullet hits, whereas the DMR you wouldnt have to worry so long as the reticle is on them.

They both have their perks, and 4 shot kill BR seems logical because everything would be balanced.

I belive the numbers were around

4sk BR: 1.39 (basically 1.4)

DMR: 1.48 (basically 1.5)

not that 0.1 of a second ever changed the fate of an entire match

Indeed. However, if me memory serves, the DMR has a 1.46 second kill time (correct me if wrong). A four shot kill BR would have 1.44 seconds, slightly faster. But I do see the scenario with four shot kill BR and a five shot kill DMR as very balanced. After all, their kill times are nearly identical, DMR takes one bullet more to kill but that difficulty would get balanced by the burst nature of the BR. In fact, I’d say making the BR four shot kill would give the three precision weapon the best balance they can possibly have between eachother.

Both the BR and the DMR would fit their respective roles in a more balanced way. BR is good close-medium range and mediocre at long range and vise versa for the DMR.

With the BR being 5 shot, the DMR will be better at every range than the BR due to the faster rate of fire.
