4 player splitscreen-need clarification

I understand that 2 player splitscreen has been confirmed for Halo Infinite, but what about 4 player splitscreen? Would love to see it for multiplayer and didn’t think it would be a stretch for series x to support it, and pretty sure most people have good memories with 4 player multiplayer from previous halo games.

I assumed when they said split screen would be back they meant 4 player. 2 player is as useless to me as not having it at all. I love the 4 player multiplayer battles with mates on the couch. Going to be very sad if they don’t include it!

I still play Halo MCC with 3 other mates on the couch weekly, Halo 5 hasn’t been booted on my console in years.

They have said 4 player campaign for online, and 2 player split for local. Mutil is 4 player split for local, I think.

Campaign 2 player split is fine I think, but need 4 player split for multi (local at least).

Haven’t seen 4 player local multiplayer confirmed anywhere, they’ve been a bit vague about splitscreen for multiplayer so far.

I thought I read this, but I am just hoping at this point. 4 player online splitscreen should make its return, but the Xbox One may hold things back. Not to mention the Series S, what was Microsoft thinking? This should be a Series X game.

Yeh it’s bizarre that Halo Infinite won’t have 4 player split-screen.

One the most useless feature on the game take a game like COD playing it split screen is a bad experience the game image are so messy that it’s impossible to see your enemies in multiplayer split screen is a dead feature guys

For clarification, it has been confirmed that Halo Infinite only supports local 2 player split-screen or 4 player co-op via online or LAN. No local 4 player split-screen.

It’s a pretty good middle ground considering the quality of the graphics will diminish the more local players you have on local hardware, as each players view needs to be rendered accordingly, which doesn’t sound like it will play nice with the dynamic lighting system and open environments. Also, Halo 5 had NO split-screen so its a step in the right direction.

No im sorry i have to disagree heavily with that comment its far from dead look at the uproar that happened when halo 5 wasn’t co-op. Additionally and im sure everyone can vouch for me it is so much more fun playing halo with your friends online together on the couch than by yourself (you can’t have a party if your the only one there) maybe for call of duty but everyone misses sitting on the couch with 3 or more of your friends playing halo split screen co-op campaign or multiplayer.

Some of my best memories with my twin brother and my best friend( god rest his sole who past away sadly 9 months ago) are with split screen multiplayer halo 3 specifically. If its not at launch at least have it come when they add 2 player co-op for the campaign there is nothing funner than having a few beers with your friends together not over a stupid mic playing halo 3 and laughing at the 13 year old who’s voice is cracking when your kicking his teams but, and being able to laugh about it together on the couch that can’t be replicated over a mic.

Yes its harder to play but we were doing this back on old Cathode Ray televisions but being able to communicate during a game with your teammates right next to you was a huge advantage and everyone can agree was way more fun. Who cares if it doesn’t look as good its how much fun your having with your friends. Plus not everyone can buy a xbox and play so this was another way to introduce friends to HALO, and seriously from having friends play 4 player split screen. Eventually they went out and got there own xbox or xbox 360 or xbox one i even had friends who only played playstation systems switch because of halo split screen multiplayer so im sorry it isn’t out dated by any means the fun factor is still there plus halo plays completely different compared to COD you don’t die instantly like in COD with that said you could play split screen.
I can’t tell you how much fun we would have on the map THE PIT or CROWS NEST specifically the pit we would be the guys sitting in the front room where the sword was and wait for the other team to come and ambush us and how much we all would laugh TOGETHER was priceless. I know this is a rant but it simply is a fact that it’s more fun playing HALO together than online over a mic. To me it just adds to the hole isolationism thats rampant as it is cuz of cell phones.

Once again Sorry for the rant but this is just my opinion and personal experience on how much more fun i have had playing with friends on a couch than over a mic and that it is way more fun playing together is all im trying to say. I know this is a older post but do think its important to get across on what im trying to say. Playing co-op campaign on HALO COMBAT EVOLVED when i was 14 i can remember with my brother we were at a hot girls house and her little brother had halo and my brother and I played the entire campaign that night. Meanwhile everyone else was watching thats more fun than sitting by yourself in a room alone playing halo. Just my opinion and sorry for the flashback of memory lane but it was necessary. That all being said id say we are getting a decent middle ground for halo infinite i do wish it was 4 player multiplayer but the graphics have improved so much im sure it be to taxing. Or maybe they could exclusively make it a series x exclusive I would think its gt the power to handle it. Regardless its way better than what they did for halo 5 that was a flop. So im glad they didn’t go down that route. That would have been a step heavily in the wrong direction

I understand it was good but remember game back then where not demanding as now. Also please play call of on ps4 splitscreen or even on xbox tell me how is your experience? Ater playing that for 5mn I couldn’t see its not a good experience. I did enjoy halo splitscreen until 2009 but the truth is being nostalgic and realist are two differents thing.

Where was this confirmed? Can you provide an link to the official 343 page that confirms this?

I’ve seen a few articles saying that they confirmed on a stream that there will be 4 player splitscreen for multiplayer only. After what happened with halo 5 i doubt they want to make the same mistake twice.

Here you go.

All I have heard is that split-screen will not be in the game at launch, they said it will be implemented in the following weeks.

I don’t think this is going to happen.
CoD black ops 4 had split screen for up to four players but it hinkle that was offline only. The four player slipt screen wasn’t continued in the following games so I don’t think we will see this feature in Infinite. Not anytime soon

I can not understand why people would want to play on half of a screen let alone a 1/4 of the screen when the internet exists. Who even does “couch co-op” anymore?

People who have real world friends.

This. Beers and halo with the lads trumps sitting alone in a dark room on a mic any day.
