4 player split screen on next gen consoles?

Has there been any news on whether or not the next gen consoles will support 4 player offline split screen? I am a huge fan os split screen gaming and I love to play offline matches of Halo and CoD with 3 other buddies while we all hang around in our living room.

I hope the Xbox One and PS4 will support this play like the 360 and PS3 did.

It will likely be title-specific, but I don’t see why the new consoles will not be able to support splitscreen. Again, nothing has been said on the subject.
