4 player split-screen is a bad idea because it’s mostly sucky and AFK people playing. I have never lost a match to a team of split-screeners because it’s mostly people with their inexperienced friends a family over that don’t know the fundamentals of Halo. And even if they’re not, they don’t play as serious as people do when they play individually. Im glas 343 went 50/50 and just made 2 players the maximum for spilt screen for matchmaking.
Nice opinion.
Good for you.
This isn’t just about matchmaking.
If you want to ban splitscreen from matchmaking altogether be my guest, but the fact that it’s been gutted as a feature sucks.
4 player split screen pretty much gave us multiplayer. Now, am I going to say it works perfectly? God no, but it was a staple of Halo multiplayer. Its how a lot of people got into it. A lot of games are moving away from splitscreen, and Halo having it made it that much more unique and personal. I’m glad we still have 2 player split, but still sad that we don’t have 4 player anymore.
Good for you OP the rest of us like being able to play with the people sitting next to us.
Speak for yourself OP. Nothin like a game against four sharing a screen in a party having to squint to see my camping -Yoink- in the corner.
After those games I enjoy flexing in the mirror…my muscles always look much more impressive to me then.
Yes, because matchmaking is the only thing splitscreen is used for.
Let’s shed a tear for the poor chap who never got invited to a LAN party.
Tear
I think the better solution would have been to not allow more than 2 local players in certain game types where the teams are smaller. 4 players in BTB split-screen should be allowed though. Now it looks like H5 has less family and friends features than previous Halos. That’s not a good thing for the new and casual crowds.
You’ve never lost a match to splitscreeners?
You’re telling us that your memory is so good and your attention to detail so superb you noticed and remember every match you’ve ever played against people with a lot of guests?
Also, did you ask every single party of 4 if they played on a single screen? I’ve played a few matches 4 players on one screen with everyone using their own account.
This isn’t even about matchmaking as they can easily limit the amount of local players to anything less than 4. And still have 4 player split screen in the rest of the game.
Wow OP god forbid if people want to have fun and play with their friends right?
