I miss local co-op for Halo. One of my favorite past times is hanging out at a buddy’s place and playin’ some Halo. But in Halo 5, that was sacrificed for better graphics. Sad.
Now, it seems to me, Halo 5 is perfectly set up for a 4 player local campaign! It’d be just like online co-op. Even 2 player I’d be happy with. But none? That just stinks. I hope local co-op comes out in an update.
Actually, consistent frame rate, not high-resolution, was the reason for its removal. 60 FPS became built into Halo 5’s base code, and they found that split-screen began to cause the frame rate, and the quality of the gameplay, to drop significantly. So, with much deliberation, 343 ultimately determined that the only choice they could reasonably make with deadlines approaching was to sadly cut it. I do really miss split-screen in Halo 5 and wish it would be added in eventually, but I understand why it was done.

And guess what? Those of us who want split screen couldn’t care less for those things as long as we get split screen.

That may be true, but were you aware of the Gungoose glitch? Before 343 fixed it, it dropped frame rate and made the game almost impossible to play. It’s not just looks. It’s the actual code. All we can hope for is that split screen is added in a future game.
