With Halo Infinite being teased with the Banished voice log, how crazy does it sound that there will be four factions in Halo Infinite? The Unsc, Cortana’s Covenant/the Promethean’s, The Banished, and possibly (most likely) the Flood? There’s also the Swords of Sangheilios, so could that make five factions? Just imagine each possible faction fighting in a cutscene. For example; The Banished are Fighting the Unsc and the Sword of Sangheilios on the Ring, then Cortana’s Covenant arrive to stop the fight via the Promethean’s landing in. But when the battle seems over, the Flood joins the fight and is overwhelmingly strong. this also sounds crazy, the the facts there are so many factions that’ll be in Halo Infinite, it’s hard not to think that the big battle that the Brute is talking about in the teaser voice log, could be all five factions facing each other.
What do you all think could end up happening with these factions? I’d love to see everyone’s speculation and theories on how a great last battle could play out.
I can’t really make a prediction because everything is just all over the place with the Halo storyline now, the UEG (and esentially all of controlled space) technically lost against Cortana and all that’s happening now is they’re running until they can find a way to rebel against the Created. But keep in mind, 343 Industries has a writer from the Batman Arkham series who is known for incorperating multiple antagonist/factions so I think they know what they’re doing from a storyline standpoint.
I’m soooo down for that. Also all of the original trilogy games had 4 (or more) factions.
Combat Evolved had the UNSC, Covies, Forerunners (well their machines anyway) & the Flood.
Halo 2 had the UNSC, Covies, Heretics (for two missions BUT THEY STILL COUNT!), Flood, Forerunners, and then the elites technically became their own faction after the Great Schism.
Halo 3 had the UNSC, Elites, Covies, Forerunners & the Flood.
And as Ken Static said, Infinite’s head writer is good with having an ensemble of villains! I can’t wait!
UNSC, Banished, and persumably the Created (Prometheans) would be three of them. 4th faction is unknown for me. Although the Created aren’t shown, they’re probably under maintenance for new looks and 343 want to keep them secret which is why they’re not shown.
