4-character tag next your your username

Hey, so I play Halo 5: Forge, and also on halowaypoint in my profile, I notice there’s a 4-character nametag (for lack of better words) next to my Gamertag. Could someone please tell me what exactly it is and how to change it if at all possible?

The four-character tag is a service tag, generally used for quick identification by your teammates. The only way to change it is through Halo 5: Guardians on the Xbox One.

Adding on to that with an example, mine is “MEDS” so that people can easily identify and communicate with me if need be. Teammates routinely shout things like “Meds, you’re getting killed again!” or “Meds, you’re going the wrong way!”

Thanks for the info

Yes indeed, thanks EMPEROR NOVA01 and CoverMyMeds.

My service tag is HAXX; some people simply call me “Hax” instead of “Haxor” for easy reference.

That’s your service tag. It used to be only 3 letters/numbers, but now it makes you use 4, which I kinda wish you had the option to only have 3 characters, so that my service tag could be PRO instead of PROI just to fill the space.

As other people have said, it’s your service tag, which really just lets you know who a person is without reading your gamertag. My name is 4 letters, so I typically just make it that.

Alright then, thanks y’all.

Go to Halo 5 click spartan hub, go to charaterization, click spartan id and then u can change it

I would, but I don’t have Halo 5, or an Xbox for that matter. I just have Halo 5: Forge, on my laptop.
