For a while now, I’ve wondered how a 3rd person camera would work with Halo 5. The mechanics are there with the detachable turrets (movement, reticule, HUD, etc), and with the FOV of vehicles recently added with Anvil’s Legacy, I think it’s quite possible.
Throw this into custom games options and more gametype would rise from this one option. Want 3rd person on a sword but not on rockets? Toggle it like the vehicle camera slider. Since Halo 5 has the most custom mechanics to date, it wouldn’t hurt to add this in.
Also a Shield and Sword REQ weapon would be nice to have with this option. It would make great Elder Scrolls/fantasy gametypes.
That would be awesome. Ever since I was a kid I have wanted to make Machinimas, but it takes a lot of work and planning with other people to do everything just right. If there was a 3rd person option or even some type of stationary/floating camera you could control while still controlling your Spartan (like an out of body experience) a lot of cool content could be made.
Would be interesting actually but for the sword and shield REQ I think having the jackal shield but takes a weapon slot, can’t shoot with it as a balance but can still melee with reduced damage since you’ll be protected from the front.

I don’t know if you’re joking but you can already do the floating camera thing

I think he means an over-the-shoulder view, as seen with the turrets.

What cookie9714 said, it’s more like the camera of a turret. You can detach the camera in Machinama mode, however you can’t control it along with your Spartan. Theatre has this feature, however its just a 360 view, like spectating when respawning or watching your team in Breakout after dying.
Just wish 343i adds this into Halo 5 or Halo 6, for new gametype ideas or personal option.
