3rd Party Communities should have more say

Like Grifballhub did/does with the Grifball playlist and what MLG did in the past with their playlist. There are communities like GrifballHub and MLG out there that have organized competitive and mini game maps/gametypes. It will take a load off of 343i’s shoulders and show they have interest in giving the community what they want.

I say this because of the way 343i is handling MM. I like the weekly updates but not so much the rotational playlists that they have been doing and the lack of key features such as FFA(yes I know it’s coming soon) and objective in BTB.

BTB.net-BTB.net is a competitive Big Team Battle league for Halo 4. The current settings that they are using can be seen here.

The Halo Forge Epidemic-A Forge community on Youtube. Showcasing both competitive and mini games the games for Flood and mini games open up a wide variety of something different(can you say Action Sack and improved Flood?).

Arena Gaming League-There when MLG couldn’t be. What I linked is the settings and schedule they will be using in Chicago this upcoming weekend. A wise successor to MLG IMO.

HaloTracks-Community focused on Racing. With the lack of the race gametype from Reach they had to become innovative like it was back in Halo 3 to make this gametype. It will be good to see this as a rotational playlist.

There are no doubt other communities that can help matchmaking and feel free to post them below.

I just feel that the community should have the ability to really have a say in what goes into MM.

I agree that the third parties have some good ideas and this is clearly because they are proper Halo fans - unlike 343 who are more fans of CoD.

BTW is there any LOGICAL reason why assault has been omitted from the gametypes list - even in custom games?

Because they still have to remake it and test it on the modified engine

The community came up with infection in Halo 2 which became very popular in customs. Bungie picked up on this and introduced infection as an actual gametype giving players lots of custom options to fiddle with which resulted in lots of spin off gametypes. These gametypes became very popular with the help of youtube which resulted in an active custom community.

The same also goes for Grifball.

However with Halo 4 it shipped with poor custom options and coupled with the lack of a fileshare has seriously hampered this game.

So for niche gametypes like this which the community it’s self created I think their feedback should weigh a little more heavily.

We work with a variety of different communities and individuals when building select playlists, modes, and game types. Several GrifballHub members, MLG pros, and more came to the studio on multiple occasions before launch to help us playtest and determine optimal settings. More recently, the Community Cartographers supplied the maps that will be used in this week’s new Community Forge Test playlist.

If your community wants a voice, the best way to accomplish that is to come to our forums and post. We can only visit so many sites a day, but our forums are always on that list. We comb through them on a daily basis to compile community asks, trends, and general feedback, so post away, because we are listening.

So…how did you guys still manage to screw the game up so bad?

If more of these communities got in touch with you and started working with 343 in helping MM would be possible to see the proposed ideas from them go public?

If you are listening…then we will have the 1-50 ranking system in game rather than only on waypoint?

I’d be all for BtB.net getting some recognition, especially since they asked back in the Reach days, shame they were ignored…
