The nameplates and avatars haven’t been released to everyone yet, but will be released to everyone soon, the free month of Xbox live should drop sometime in January and ODST will come in the Spring as it has just begun development. If you have Automatic Updates and Instand On enabled on your Xbox, then you probably already have the last update. To confirm, check and see if you can access Spartan Ops from MCC as that was what the 3gb update enabled.
If not, quit everything to dashboard, hold in the power button until your box turns off, wait 30 secs, turn back on and then launch MCC. You should then be prompted that MCC needs an update.
