3DTV support?

Look, I know some few people really, really, dislike 3DTV. Ofcourse, those who dislike things are the most vocal on the internet. The thing is, it doesn’t take much for 343 to add support for 3D drivers, and those who don’t like it can choose to not use it. This is a next-gen game, and I’ve been really disappointed that there aren’t more games with support for 3D. 343 added 3D to Halo:CE Anniversary on Xbox 360 and then mysteriously removed it from MCC.
If you don’t like 3d, fine, but don’t come here claiming that it will take too much of the developers time to implement 3D in the graphics engine. It’s pretty straight forward to render a second viewpoint for the second eye. Yes, it would impact performance, pretty much exactly equal to rendering a splitscreen. The performance impact would only manifest itself in 3D mode. Black Ops 2 had 3D mode WHILE playing 4 player splitscreen zombies, and that a last gen game.

Please 343, a 3D mode would be awesome!

Agreed, it would be nice.

You read my mind. I talk about this almost every day. Halo CE anniversary had 3d back on the 360 and it looked very good. So when they announced TMCC I though for sure the entire collection was going to be in 3d. Shocked it isn’t. In fact Halo ce isn’t even 3d on the X1. How bizarre is that?!!

With that said I sure hope they implement 3d into H5. At least the co-op campaign.

Also for those that don’t know, 3d can indeed be added later as a patch. So hopefully TMCC gets a 3d patch. At least for the co-op campaign.

3d gaming is novel and I don’t see why it shouldn’t be included. I enjoyed anniversary and Crysis on teh 360 in 3D, however, I did notice my blink rate decreased significantly and my eyes would dry out. Need to put some saline spritizers on the glass so my eyes stay moist and I can play longer.

For those of you into 3d gaming, make sure to check out Gears Of War 3 in 3d. Stunning!!!

As for the dry eyes, I never had that issue with my 3d. Maybe it depends if it is active 3d or passive 3d. Active uses the batteries and that’s what I have. Passive does not use batteries and from my experience, doesn’t work quite as well as Active.

I have a Sony Bravia 3d tv. 240hz. Sony Active 3d glasses.

Most 3D TVs have 2D to 3D conversion, just use that.

Doesn’t work anywhere near as well. I play Halo 4 co-op campaign like that once in a while but there truly is no comparison to real 3d. Real 3d creates instant multi-layer depth perception even with still images.

On-the-fly 3d conversion mode built-in to TVs is terrible, it can’t compare to natively rendered 3D or even re-projection 3D conversions.

Josh Holmes says there are no plans for 3DTV mode.
