So here’s something I don’t understand. When ordering your 3D Spartan model from Halo 5, you can pick stances that you do not own in game…but not armor. Where’s the ‘customization’? I would gladly drop at least $50 right now just to get my own 3D printed Spartan…but I won’t since I can’t fully customize him. Sure, I can use the colors I want, can put my gamer tag on the base plate, can use the assassin stance (that I don’t own) but I can’t use the Shinobi helmet. I don’t own it. I have the armor, but I don’t feel like my Spartan will be something I’m happy with unless I have the exact armor set that I want. Call me crazy, but if I’m dropping money on something, it should be a worth while purchase. I honestly don’t understand the logic of not being able to just customize your Spartan with whatever armor you want. It doesn’t have to be in game content, it could just be for the 3D print. Sigh…guess I’ll have to keep opening gold packs in the hopes that I get the one helmet I want.
I agree that you should be able to fully customize your 3D Spartan when ordering.
There was an armor set that I really wanted (still do, don’t have it yet) and I was looking at getting a 3D Spartan around the time they were first available.
But the “have to own the armor” thing kept me from getting one.
I’m hoping that they might loosen up on that restriction in the future. Seems odd to have it to begin with.
I kind of like the restrictions honestly. Made me want the armors even more, and work harder towards completing my collection. I plan on getting one when I unlock Achilles. Although I understand your plight. I would have gotten one at launch if I had Helljumper available then.

I think it’s just incentive to get the armors you want the most.

I can’t even decide which armor to wear cause none of it comes across as being too special so far I’m just going with the armor that shows off the most butt

It seems to focus more on what you have on, Now. Not create a random spartan for you to have.
-I got mine and Im still wearing the same armor it has. So I can say…yes that is me.
I was really lucky and unlocked the Cypher armour early on. Fits in with my Section 3 theme and color scheme so I was able to order a 3D print just after they launched. Regarding customisation, it is really an incentive to encourage people to play. Want a nice print of your Spartan? Play some Halo, unlock your armour and place an order. There’s no time limit on it, so you can pretty much order any time and they’re adding more stances and things all the time
Glad to see I’m not alone in the way I feel regarding customization for 3D prints. And yes, I do agree with others, it is a way to encourage play. I’m already encouraged, though. I love playing the multiplayer regardless of whether or not I’m trying to unlock content. So seeing as how I have to wait for my luck to change before dropping money on a custom print…it just leaves me a bit disappointed. Hopefully they will either change the 3D print restrictions or I’ll get my Shinobi helmet soon.
