Is anyone else having problems with the 3d mode?
My 360 is hooked up to my home theater amp and every other 3d game i have on both 360 and ps3 pass though the amp without a problem. But CEA just keeps telling me to have widescreen turned on in the console settings, which it is as its running 1080p.
But when i hook my 360 direct to the tv the 3d mode does work, but only at 720p.
Any way of getting CEA to just switch to 3d SBS mode?
Same here keeps sayin verify widescreen. Hooked straight to a 3d tv.
Glad im not the only one with a problem, give me hope of a patch, even though for me direct connection to a tv works.
Lets hope someone from 343 sees this, they didnt reply to my tweet about it.
How do u have it hooked up I have component.it wot let me do 3d even thoughi can play gears in 3d
360 to amp via HDMI, amp to tv via HDMI.
Black ops, Arkham city, and every other 3d game works just fine thought this set up…

Xbox isnt boasting 3d technology because of the graphics limitations. Ive heard it can only do 720 in 3d. sony has the full 1080p 3d and is why they are getting the 3d attention.
but back to the problem, i have a dlp projector connected directly, and it doesnt recognize it as a 3dtv. this is frustrating for projector owners who get the back-burner over tvs in 3d technology support.
im hoping for a patch soon that will fix this issue especially for a VIEWSONIC PJD6531w (hint hint 343) that can only run on 16:10 and i hope this doesn’t make the game think it isnt the 16:9 widescreen.

I’m looking at the back of the case, and it says that the 360 has to be hooked directly to a 3D tv with a HDMI cable in order for it to work. It’s in the second sentence in the paragraph under the Microsoft Studios logo.

The only mention 3d on the back of mine says “The 3D functionality can only be used together with a 3D TV, Related 3d glasses, and a HDMI cable (Sold seperatly)”
Nothing about it having to be a direct connection from xbox to tv…

Yeah it does seem a bit much for you having to have it plugged directly into the tv. Previous games I’ve played with in game option to switch 3D on and off have worked just fine. You would think they would have been able to do it the same way. Starting to wonder if it only supports certain tv’s…
Dita - that would be the weirdest thing of most if the only supported some 3d tvs. After all most 3d is done either in SBS (side by side) mode where if you look at it on a non 3d tv it just splits your screen vertically and shows the same image on both sides, or TAB (top and bottom) which when, once again, viewed on a non 3d it splits the screen horizontally and shows the same image Top and Bottom.
I have 3 3d tvs in my place, and they are all different brands, and I have gone around all of them with my xbox and they all work with a direct connection. And all 3 tvs offer the option of SBS and TaB 3D, Although my samgsung 3d tv also offers 2d-3d shifting, which isnt too bad, but not as good as real 3d
The problem is that this game uses real 3D so you’ll need a High Speed HDMI cable otherwise known as a 1.4 cable. If you have a A/V Reciver like i do then you have to make sure it supports 3D. Mine doesn’t so i have to hook up my 360 with the 1.4 cable straight to the TV. If you have a true 3D set up with 3D A/V reciver then head to the System settings and go to Display there you’ll find new 3D settings for those with 3D tvs. Once you did that head back into the game and set up 3D you should get no other problems besides keeping your bottom jaw from hitting the floor.

I bought TWO copies, for our two Xbox 360 household, and now I feel like a chump.
I play Call of Duty: Black Ops in SBS mode, Enslaved in SBS mode, and Battle:LA in top and bottom mode (like Halo:CE Anniversary is supposed to be able to do)…all with no problems.
I shelled out for TWO copies, and now I have to choose between 3D and 5.1 surround sound?
I cant type what I want to here. Because it would be extremely profanity laced and obscene. Believe me when I say I can really turn it up to eleven. I turn it into an art. I really want to. But who cares or listens.
I want a patch for this, and I want it this morning. This is a load of horse----.
I wish this was made clear, before I dropped my hard earned cash in TWO copies. In almost every review, there was NO MENTION of 3D support. I guess because calling it “support” is too generous.
I want a patch. Now.

Nothing they can do about it bro. You would have the same problem if you had a PS3, the thing about those games is that the game itself is outputing in 3D instead of the console itself doing it. The big issue with that is that we get a big degrade in graphics quality and we only get one frame buffer for both eyes. Now like the PS3 we get full 720p 3D. You were just caught with your pants down because your A/V Reciever can’t carry the 3D singal. I like you can’t have Full 720p 3D without hooking up my 360 straight to the TV, but that’s our fault not theirs. The choices i made in life put me in the situation i’m in like what happpend with you. I decided to get a new sound system right before newer versions came out with 3D support, that was my bad. Relax my dude roll up a Jay and just play with what you have. I still get 2.1 and 720P 3D better than just hearing that Shh through the TV. This should be made clear, NO PATCH CAN FIX THIS. Just work around it and let it go.

false!! Please for the love of god stop spreading the evil that is Disinformation. PS3 does 720p 3D nothing more. Xbox is now matching what PS3 can do. The last thing we need is more ignorant people.
You don’t need a patch because you’re probably running your 3D with a regular HDMI cable through a normal A/V Reciever that can’t carry the full real 3D signal. Trust me i was in the same boat, i thought everyone was full of dookie when i was able to play 3D games with my normal set up. Then i tried it with the PS3 and no 3D games worked, hell it didn’t even know i had a 3dTV. It wasn’t until i got a High Speed HDMI cable also know as HMDI 1.4 and hooked up the PS3 to the TV. All of a sudden it was asking me for TV size and if i wanted to enable 3D. The same thing is happening to you guys but you lack problem solving skills to figure it all out. As gamers you should be shamed considering how many problems and issues we have to face everyday when gaming competiativly online. Get yourr heads straight before you start raging out like a lame.
could one of you 3D TV owners please go the game settings while in 3D mode and hit the switch for turning on and off the game’s 3D. I need to know the layout of whatever option comes up after you go to “disable” the 3D.
I accidentally turned it on and now my live account reverts the game to 3D mode whenever I sign in. My TV isnt a 3D one and it can’t support the 3D image so all I see is blackness. I can’t see anything at all. But I have the button stroke to get to the 3d option, I just don’t know what to press after I hit disable on 3D.
So if someone could find out what needs to be pressed after hitting left or “A” on the 3D option in order to turn if off, then that would be awesome!

Once you disable 3D just push “A” again to save the setting. Nothing else comes up just change it to disable and push A. I don’t even know how it’s possible for a non 3Dtv effect the 3D setting in the game. You shouldn’t even be allowed to change anything.
