360 Controller on One Workaround?

Hey all,
This might seem really sentimental and not necessary at all, but after hopping back into Halo 3 and 4 after years of not playing them, it’s so strange to play them with the One Controller, to the point where it almost feels unnatural. Which is why I ask in my specific case, is there a way to use a wireless 360 controller on the One? I know there’s the streaming on W10 tactic, but I only have a wireless controller

“The Xbox One can not directly accept input from an Xbox 360 controller - however, with Windows 10, there is a work around.
Windows 10 allows you to set up your Xbox One to stream to your computer. While streaming to your computer, you are directed to connect the controller into the computer, not the Xbox One.
In this form, Xbox 360 controllers will work for playing Xbox One games. You can directly plug in a wired controller, or use an adapter, if you are using the wireless controllers.”

Still not sure why they removed X360 controller support from the X1 - other than to sell more X1 controllers… I am sure the drivers for it wouldn’t be that hard to write.
