343s washington post interview

According to Venture these games are not made for the fans.

Ahh yes… I am at fault for thinking a game from the halo Series should have more if not content on par with previous entries, not less.

Goodness gracious me for thinking infection should be a playlist, much less an action sack at the least.

Heaven forbid I even mention Firefight or micro-transaction color schemes.

But what do I, the consumer know, surely this is pinnacle Halo, and nothing could be done to improve this situation.

There’s a whole lot of irony in this post.

Oh I remember. I’ve always been a firm believer in the quote from Shigeru Miyamoto - “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”

The industry as a whole needs to adopt a more “when it’s ready” approach. And Microsoft needs to change is contract workers policy.

No matter how its painted, its gonna be interpreted as a negative.

I think Bonnie needs to learn sooner rather than later that its “The Fans” that if unified as best as possible can truly send Halo “To the stars”, I believe it to be possible, its just not happening cause its clear theres too much of a friction between creator and consumer.

Halo needs its core audience to be treated well, as they are the main customers, it is through their word of mouth that they can bring more people in, they also have the power to push people away due to obsessiveness or unhappiness, too much good and too much bad are poison either way when it comes to speaking about something.

they need to realise this now more than ever.

though I wouldn’t be surprised if its too late for that, were already fractured enough as is, because of that Halo may never be able to “reach for the stars”

They’re tryna do Halo 2’s philosophy, but they’re doing it wrong with bad writing

Though I agree, this isn’t what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the targeted harassment these articles create because they’re designed to piss people off and garner hate.

That’s what’s happening here. Everyone is so angrily blind that they take anything and everything as a negative.

David Ellis got hate for liking a tweet. People need to settle down. Play other games besides Halo.

Forge and co-op won’t arrive until more than 8 months after launch, and the game still won’t be the complete package we want at that point. Why are you so sure that 1 extra year of development would have helped so much?

Because having forge and co-op is better then not having it. Also maybe we wouldn’t have vast issues with multiplayer.

Im looking for every 343 employee to do a group video in the parking lot together, or the auditorium, if they have one.
All crying and begging for forgiveness like a megachurches pastor whos been caught with an 8 ball of coke and a bunch of hookers
For 10 minutes.
Then theyll get me back

Because the problem right now is 343i is having to balance out focusing on the live service aspect of the game (constant updates to the store, in-game events, balancing out gameplay) with currently fixing bugs/glitches, fixing the Slipspace engine (which they’ve admitted is not up to par right now), and implementing things that should’ve been in the game day one.

If they delayed it by another year then that would cut out literally half of their problems. Instead of anyone focusing on the live service aspect everyone would be focusing on fixing the game itself and the engine so it would be ready for launch the following year.

Slightly off topic… but does this quote hold the same relevance today?

Twenty plus years ago your game was etched in stone upon the cartridge / disc. You couldn’t update or patch it to fix or improve things. Bugs were permanent features.

I get that first impressions are still important. But…

If Elden ring is anything to go by, I would’t say it’s an outdated quote yet.

Edit: Sea of theives and no Mans sky may have fixed themselves over time, but there are probably a few too many that didn’t, Anthem, and Amazons Crucible I think it was called, are two of the biggest ones off the top of my head.

It does still hold true today in my opinion. While games can be fully built practically after launch games which do not feature content or are considered unplayable tend to fail. While this doesn’t necessarily affect single player titles like Cyberpunk it does absolutely affect games which feature a heavy multiplayer experience.

One must remember that Halo is an Xbox game. While it is also available on PC it is not (and should never be) available on PlayStation. Thus the market for such a game is inherently smaller then other titles such as Apex, Call of Duty, and Battlefield which are all multiplatform titles. For exclusives like Halo it is extremally important that the title launches in a playable status with a decent amount of content.

What are you talking about? So fans complaining about legitimate issues are shooting themselves in the foot? How? Howelse are fans supposed to get their message across to 343.

It’s not the fans fault this game released too early. It’s not the fans fault 343 cannot keep up with content, it’s also not the fans fault that 343 doesn’t have the staff to both maintain the game properly while allowing the staff to keep a healthy work/home balance.

You are complaining about people complaining about the game. The only useless piece of this puzzle is your comments. It’s neither going to help fix the game nor change anyone’s mind. If you are so in love with the current state of the game, you should be playing it, rather than trying to troll here.

Also, that would have been a solid year of development instead of also trying to keep the game alive at the same time.

You would think they would learn with the positive feedback from Halo 5’s really good Multiplayer, but man they fell so far from the tree. I liked Halo Infinite Campaign though, maybe the new content in the future will save it but I don’t have high hopes right now. I feel like they’re slowly pulling an EA with us.
