Blue Team: 1 Platinum, 4 Gold and 3 Unranked

I remain convinced that the ranking system is just for show. The worst you’d get in Halo 3 is ten above or below your level, but I’ve been matched against onyx as a gold -Yoink-.
Who says that the 6 unranked players weren’t gold in other game modes?
You must play against higher players to see if you do well against them, if not, you get placed lower after your promo’s…
I got placed against champions on Swat and I’ve became onyx myself.
You can’t expect to play against bronze players for all your promo’s, seems like you don’t know how promo’s work.

There is valid reason for unranked against ranked, the game should be looking at how people perform against all ranks. For example you do very well against a Gold 1-2 team, maybe you’re better. The game places you against a Platinum team next, you suck horribly. Ok now we know you’re probably mid Gold tier.
I won’t deny the game has issues with MM, it should be off performance in KD not wins and losses but the way I described it is how it should work.

The match making is broken, Last night i played with a teammate who was bronze but as good as I in arena. We won 13 straight matches against all high gold mid Plat. i am now Onyx because of it, not to say im not of the Onyx skill level (i am you can check) but it makes teams of 4 with low ranks able to boost against randoms or other teams of average ranks of the mean of the highest and lowest rankings on your team

I messaged one of the players on the other team after the game and asked if they were partied up b/c of the mismatch and he said no. He was playing random and no one was using mics during the match.
