343's awesome stubbornness - Halo 5 is the future

Thank you 343, you finally took the obscure, slow & boring Halo franchise and brought it into the light.

Before you got involve into the project of pushing Halo further, Halo (1 to 3 in particular) was just a slow (without sprint, WTF!?), boring shooter franchise, that only a handful of -Yoink!- nerds played.

The matchmaking of Halo 2 was a disaster, because :

  1. MLG didn’t care about the game.

  2. Most people stopped playing the matchmaking after only 3 weeks (the population dropped so fast, it was scary) past the release date.

  3. No sprint.

And then, came the Halo 3 joke…

  1. MLG cared even less about the game.

  2. Most people stopped playing the matchmaking only 2 weeks (the population dropped so fast, it was scary) after the release date.

  3. No sprint.

And then, Bungie finally saw the light, and brought us Halo : Reach

  1. MLG was in awe.

  2. Most people continued playing the matchmaking 4 years (the population has grown so fast, it was scary) after the release date.

  3. Sprint was added (it was a fresh evolution)

  4. Armour lock was directly inspired from the divine : you could push a button and get invincible in a matchmaking game. Just awesome.

  5. The path to finally push the obscure and unpopular Halo franchise into the light was crafted by the original creators of the series.

  6. Kudos Bungie.

And then 343, you guys were created to push Halo even further.

… And with the immense success we now know you for.

Halo 4 came, directly descending from the sky, like if GOD’S own hands crafted this matchmaking masterpiece.

  1. To say that MLG was in awe, is still an understatement.

  2. All the millions of players gained with REACH continues playing the matchmaking, and that is since 2012 by the way.

  3. Sprint was added as default (it was a even fresher evolution)

  4. Armour abilities were created : Now a 50 (in snipers) in Halo 3 could snipe, but while being almost continually invisible. It was a BRILLIANT idea. The guy was almost impossible to kill in Halo 3, now you gave him the power to do his killing while he’s invisible. Einstein couldn’t have had a better idea.

  5. The path to finally push the obscure and unpopular Halo franchise into the light was almost attained.

  6. Kudos 343.

And now, Halo 5…

I don’t have the words to describe the brilliance behind this masterpiece.

I’ll just make 1 point :

  1. Ground pound. Brilliant. Now Master Chief is in par with superman. Hold your button, and transform Master Chief into a spartan meteorite. I’m still in awe before that genius concept.

Ok, 2 points, I can’t forget the thrusters after all…

Thruster packs given to everyone. Just pure ingenuity. Shoot someone with the BR and at the 3rd shot, he thrust away.

To say that I’m in love with this game, really is an understatement.

343, I love you guys and I want you for Presidents of the United States of America.

Thank you again, because now, I know that my beloved gaming franchise, Halo, is in wonderful hands.

At first I was all “what…” and then I saw what you did there.

Still, not very constructive.

This is satire right?

Wut.

this made me lol I love you OP

Stubbornness can also be a reflection of yourself if you flip things around.

Vote #1 Jasux for CEO 343

I’m sorry but what is the point of this thread? Why would you make a thread to bash 343 I get it that you don’t like 343 and their decisions but instead of voicing your opinions and explaining your problems you just do this.

Thinking is generally constructive…

No… Not at all! <— That, is satire…

I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

Lol I give you 100 troll points, too bad I can’t up vote for your satire. What made you change your mind so quickly?! Cuz that is just bleeding of sarcasm hah, but good job.

But in all seriousness, it is the future. We just don’t know what it will exactly be like.

I feel like people don’t understand how the gaming and technology industry progresses over time.

You can’t stay static and not move forward with the rest of the industry. It just isn’t a viable strategy.

Look at mobile phones. Before you just had cell phones for calls and texts, but now a cell phone is typically expected to have a camera, email, internet etc etc.

That doesn’t mean you can’t make an old style mobile phone. But it means that you’re making a mobile phone directed at a smaller consumer base (i.e, people who don’t want the extra features, or have no interest in using them.) The old mainstream becomes a niche product.

Ultimately, you have to meet the expectations of the industry and its consumers, while keeping to the core values you want your product to have.

The problem with Halo is that most can’t agree on what those core values are.

An excellent example sir. It won’t get through I’m afraid.

You said exactly what I think.
All things are in a certain progress in its own ways and if you stop you will fall and can’t get up again.
I don’t think that it is helpful for the Halo Franchise to keep all things like they were in Halo 2 or 3. I really loved Halo 2 and 3 and I still love them but what 343 does with Halo 5 is pretty amazing in my point of view. I also like Halo 4 and although it was worse than Halo 3 I still like it, because it was no bad game.

I can understand people who say they will not buy it and that is also a normal progress, because you can’t satisfy everybody.

dem sarcasms, dude that was awesome, especially this one:

I love you too bro…

We are not worthy of 343’s incandescent radiance!

Yeah, I’m stubborn, especially when we take a masterpiece like Halo and we transform it into a forgettable, “flavor of the day”, generic shooter.

I get REALLY stubborn…

Your analogy is flawed because the new features in a phone do not make the original features function worse than they did before.
