343ruinedHALO Clan tag

A very disappointing beta from 343. If you’re upset with things such as sprint or anything you feel strongly shouldn’t be in the game, simply make you’re clan tag in mcc 343ruinedHALO. Let your voice be heard in any which way you can people!!!

This is probably one of the most pathetic and childish posts I’ve ever seen on the forums

But what if halo is not kill?

iloominarty cinfirmid?

Or you could just stop playing the game if you have a problem with it. They already got your money. And you’re supporting them by playing it. So they probably don’t care what your tag says.

It’d be like wearing a “Fast Food Nation” t-shirt to McDonald’s and ordering food. It makes you look like a hypocrite.

Me playing the game really isn’t supporting them that much more after the initial purchase. I dislike that there ripping ideas that every basic fps shooter has and taking away from a unique game that I’ve loved since halo CE. People that are going to hate on this post are most likely satisfied with the halo 5 beta and like sprint in halo games. I’m not one of those people. I strongly believe halo shouldn’t have sprint as a default. By making the clan tag, there’s an increase chance of getting your voice heard. If you don’t respect the idea I really could care less.

I’m going to put my clan tag as 343savedhalo just because of this post.

Couldn’t care less, you mean.

And that’s fine. It’s okay to be unhappy with it. I just don’t see what the clan tag accomplishes. I do have respect for your views; just not the clan tag idea. It seems a bit sophomoric to me.

They already had a feedback survey, and those who signed up for it already voiced themselves. And even though, according to that survey, most people seem to be cool with them “ripping off” other FPS’s (which I guess every FPS in the past ten years has stolen sprint from what? Half-Life 2?) they added the ability to toggle the modern features off in customs. And they certainly didn’t have to.

And customs is a big part of Halo. It’s where I’ve always had the most fun. So I look forward to being able to play with and without these features. It adds variety. And variety keeps me coming back.

I think that’s why I mostly play Halo 2 & Halo 4; I like to get a bit of both worlds depending on my mood. And for Halo 5 to be able to play like Halo 5 “modern” and also have a more classic approach is great.

#HaloCommunity everybody

You can think of the clan tag idea as sort of a protest. If you don’t like something, you have to let your voice be heard, wether it be from a forum post or a clan tag, it’s a way of showing disapproval. They had a feedback survey that myself and many others that are just now hearing about that didn’t get to vote. I’ve looked at sprint forum posts and I’ve yet to see one where sprint was ahead of no sprint, so I can’t see how there’s only 11% that didn’t want sprint, because I’m seeing 50%+ and over who don’t want sprint in these forum posts.

Either way, it’s optional now. Sure, you’d rather it not exist, or at least only be able to be used in customs, but nobody was even expecting them to have the toggle option. So it is possible for everyone to play the game the way they want to.

And they didn’t have to do that. I certainly wasn’t expecting it. And a compromise is the right thing to do. There are both people who do and do not like sprint, so having it optional works. To demand it all be removed outright shows an apparent disregard for those who like modern Halo. And no one who likes modern Halo is demanding you play with sprint only or calling for the removal of the toggle or that sprint should always be available, so why are those on the other side of the argument doing that? It’s a bit selfish.

I heard about the survey program on this site. On the main page. I clicked the link, submitted my e-mail, and was then sent the survey.

The Sprint question wasn’t a “yay” or “nay”, but instead one of those degrees of agreement something like this:

“I Like Sprinting in Halo”

-Strongly Agree
-Somewhat Agree
-Neutral
-Somewhat Disagree
-Strongly Disagree

The 11% were those who chose “Strongly Disagree”.

And the truth is, they have to maximize profits. And the market shows that the most successful FPS games utilize these or similar features, and in order to stay relevant they can either follow the market trends (while implementing a toggle feature for those who prefer classic Halo as to not abandon them) or simply remake Halo 3 and pray that the majority of gamers are still into playing an 8 year old style of FPS or that they’ll wind up with a Counter Strike situation. It’s obvious which they went with.

They need Halo to be a contender, and not a niche retro game … as fun as that sounds, it’s not a good business model for Microsoft’s flagship franchise.

A clan tag to play a game that 343 supposedly ruined. Makes sense.

For the people that don’t want sprint at all a mediocre no sprint option in custom games is nothing. You really think somebody that disliked sprint will buy the game just to play custom games all day? A majority of people buy halo for its matchmaking multiplayer, custom games for me are meant for trying to improve/warm up before going into ranked matchmaking playlist. 343 is trying to maximize profits you say? Exactly why I don’t respect them, they don’t care about the halo fans that have been here since day 1 they care about the other crowds like call of duty, battlefield, ect… And are trying to follow the crowd. You’re also saying if we In fact didn’t incorporate sprint in halo 5 that we would just be playing halo 3 again? You sound ridiculous for that statement. Halo CE was successful without sprint, then followed halo2 extremely successful without sprint, halo 3 still no sprint but still so succesful, halo 5 comes and now we need sprint all of a sudden for a game to be succesful? Sprint was never needed for halo to be succesful, halo is a top rated title and it got there without sprint to begin with. I respect that some may like sprint, but please don’t think that a toggle feature is going to do diddly squat.

> 343 is trying to maximize profits you say? Exactly why I don’t respect them

That is their job.

Microsoft owns 343. So they are Microsoft. And as a corporation, they are legally obligated to maximize profits at the lowest expenditure. By law. If a shareholder can prove they’re doing anything but that, they can sue.

That’s how it works.

I just used Halo 3 as an example. My favorite Halo is Combat Evolved (I’m actually wearing a Combat Evolved t-shirt right now because … well, I’m a nerd), so I’m not biased here on the sprint issue. I could take it or leave it.

If the toggle option is pointless, then they ought to remove it if they haven’t already put it in. It’d save a lot of trouble. But I don’t think sprint is going anywhere. If I want to strafe and bunny hop and BXR, I’ll play Halo 2. I can do that now. And if I want to bolt around the map at speed, thrusting about and ground pounding fools, I’ll be able to do that too. Because we have options! On the same console (once they fix the MCC, of course).

I want Halo 5 to be Halo 5. I don’t it to be a cheap imitation of the older games. (“I want it to be a cheap imitation of CoD!!!” lol. inb4u). The old games are great, and we have them still. So I’m perfectly happy with the way things are going (once they fix the MCC, of course).

God yoinking damn…I don’t even…

Take this OP, bundle it up into a bag, set it on fire and throw it away. And while you’re at it, stop being so childish.

Inb4 “stop bullying me” or “343 apologist”

The poll went like this:

I like Sprint in Halo 5: Guardians
•Strongly Agree
•Agree
•Neutral
•Disagree
•Strongly Disagree

The TWO bottom options had a total of 11%
