Just wanted to explain to you why I loved 343i and why they’ve fallen out of my favor recently.
They saved Reach.
I’m a modern 343i hater, but they had a GREAT start off but turning Reach into Halo Combat Evolved 2. At the time I really had no problem with Armor Lock which was most people’s problem. See sanity not included. Whenever I would see someone using it I’d go into game chat while I was dead and when they popped it, get into position and say to them
“I got all day -Yoink-! Nobody’s comin to save your -Yoink-, I got all day!”
A friend heard me say that and it became our Halo Reach meme. 343i did good with Reach when they took over, hmm it was delicious.
The Halo Animated Series-
Oh boy didn’t the canon take a swift kick to the nuts for these stories coming into the light. While very canon breaking they were entertaining and something I believe every Halo fan wanted to see.
Halo Combat Evolved 3
Halo CEA had us all worried at first with MC’s helmet looking…odd, but 343i brought it back bringing old and new goodies together and Halo CEA had new skulls. While I have a few gripes with the army being the marines in the game instead of them being ODST’s like they were in lore but Halo CEA was still the -Yoink-, it even came with an actually great use of the Kinetic and a load of DLC for Halo CE 2.
Forward Unto Dawn-
343i you guys are insane. you rented a -Yoinking!- country to shoot this film. DAMN! While I didn’t like most of it being about The Nobody’s The Covenant invasion was the hypest of -Yoink-, can’t lie that made it for me.
BOOKS!
Forerunner Saga-I nearly had a heart attack when I heard about there being a book series about the Forerunners and I’m not even lying. Even thinking about it right now just sounds Mm, delicious.
Karen Tavis stuff-…Halo isn’t exactly her area IMO.
Halo 4-This is where the faith hit the ground hard. After Halo CE 2 everybody was in full thrust for Halo 4. 343i did good at literally every turn, how could screw this up. There isn’t much I can say that hasn’t already been beaten about Halo 4 besides removal of favrite features and the return of hated. All I can say is, it had an impact on Halo 5.
Spartan Ops-
Something we’ve always wanted executed in the wrong way. Story was pretty good, and the introduction of what is the best Spartan IV Fireteam FIRE TEAM CRIMSON! suck on it Osiris, you ain’t got nothing on Crimson. The only issues people had with Spartan Ops was is’ repetition. Weird when you think about it because people were screaming for Firefight to return which is the embodiment of repetition, so…WTF!
COMICS!
Initiation-Who doesn’t love a good comic, apparently 343i because the Sarah Palmer comic made me hater her more. She literally hates people that are smarter than her. k -Yoink- you Palmer.
Escalation-Was overall good until it all eventually meant NOTHING TO HALO 5!
Hunt the Truth-See the details of Escalation.
The Master Chief Collection
-__-
Basically everything wrong with 343i in a basket of -Yoink- you.
Mobile Games-Bad at first glance but fun as hell.
Halo 5-Literally the exact opposite of Halo 4. Kind of surprised they’re made by the same company. Again, what can’t already of been said. Well that we made Halo 5. 343i listens so we have to take as much of the blame as they do. They removed the hated features and craziness of Halo 4 and made a more competitive Halo. Without us properly conveying that we liked those crazy modes just as much but we’d rather have both not just one. 343i saw this and since again we didn’t really let them know, we kind of -Yoinked!- Halo 5.
To quote that girlfriend that’ll never be satisfied. “You should know what I want!” is what alot of people have said but no, the world doesn’t work like that.
Halo 5 erased massive chunks of Halo 4’s story making it near useless. WHAT GENESONG!?! All I saw was the Didact and his robot army. We need more of those because people just loved fighting the Prometheans. While I generally don’t like 343i’s silence like on my Elites and why Crimson has suddenly vanished, I admit that we -Yoinked!- up as a community to inform them of what we wanted early on. Some of us were too soaked up in the hype the others in hatred, that’s our fault 343i, so you get bounce back points.
It took me a while to admit this for as much as I hate 343i for their resent -Yoink-! There is no doubt anymore in my mind that Halo 5 is THE BEST HALO GAME in terms of gameplay. Not game content, gameplay. Nothing is useless in Halo 5, everything has a role and purpose and I’m not going to lie, if you’re calling a weapon OP because it killed you then it’s most likely because you were just in every wrong position for it to kill you.
343i truly brought skill back into Halo and I thank them for it. Now if they could only IGNORE REQS AND FOCUS ON CONTENT! -Yoink- REQS!
Halo 6
So what has 343i learned from us. That they’re stories can at times break canon but acception will only go so far (looking at you Halo 5’s story) that we will riot, that we want content and solid gameplay along with story well composed. We want manageable customization with plentiful variety and in my case, I want my -Yoinking!- elites and Crimson back. Come on halo 5 should of been Fireteam Crimson vs Blue team. IT WOULD OF BEEN PERFECT
and we want it to feel like Halo.
Wow, that’s -Yoinking!- -Yoink-. Our wants and demands for Halo 6 is literally everything thing a game can be. That’s total -Yoink- to think they won’t screw up somewhere in there, and I’ve realized this. While 343i has the biggest plate of any gaming company out there right now because they not only have to keep up a legacy BUT literally be good at every gaming feature ever conceived otherwise the game will have negative reception.
I really hate 343i right now but damn they have too much on that plate, so I can atleast understand their slow pace, can you?
Side note: Halo Wars 2 is also a thing so that’s a thing. Just don’t have the same terrible strategy play of Halo Wars 1 and all will be good. MP was just spam based.
Extra Side Note: To those who say Halo 4 was a gem and Halo 5 has no flaws, I’ve met you halfway with this post, can you for once acknowledge that the games have faults?
Please point out any errors in the post, I’m sure there are a few, I’ll try to correct those that that are spotted.

I disagree.
With the return of Cortana, 343i forgetting about the Genesong, the lack of MC Blue, Thel, Rtas, Crimson and Majestic, the underwhelming death of Jul, boss rehashes, constant ignoring of firefights return, micro-transactions holding back customization options for the majority of the community, the stereotypical tale of “Robots rule all story” and the needless appearance changes of…everything Halo 5 has taken many steps backwards.

What? I’m saying that Halo reach IMO was a pretty solid game that needed some fixes that 343i supplied. What are you talking about?

What fixes did 343i make to reach? They didn’t exist as a company when Reach launched back in September of 2010
Halo CEA was a large missed opportunity. The Campaign side was pretty good, maybe takes a few too many creative liberties in some areas but is overall fairly faithful to the original style. The Multiplayer though was just an expansion pack for Halo Reach, when it should’ve been an actual remastered version of the original Ce Multiplayer. Also Reach is not “Halo Ce 2”.
MCC is MCC. Enough said. In addition, why not remake the entire Halo 2 experience? Why stop at six maps?
Halo 4 and Halo 5…to put it simply it’s just like “what the -Yoink- are you guys doing”? So many completely avoidable mistakes were made it just blows my mind. Every step forward the two games made (of which there were indeed some steps forward) is completely negated by another step backwards simultaneously.

Title Updates, Playlist Updates, Halo Anniversary Content, etc.
Bungie created Reach, but eventually 343I were the ones left to support it.

Steps in the right direction:
Removing the physical disk from the $250 Limited Collector’s Edition and then making the most loyal fans trade in their digital code and wait for a disk to be shipped ;D
Removal of split-screen, LAN and co-op matchmaking.
Removal of oddball, assault, juggernaut, infection(but its coming!maybe…), Grifball(coming…too late), BTB(added too late with trash maps) and too many gametypes to list.
No spartan ops/firefight.
Not having a working theater/forge/file share.
Refusing to have a dedicated team to fixing UI/weapon balancing issues.
Not addressing the BROKEN aiming system(deadzones/acceleration) until almost 2 months after launch.
Adding in a Pay2Win system that rewards money and luck, over time and effort.
Continuing to use seasons that reward winning, over skill and teamwork.
Lowering the time to kill to reward grenade spammers and aggressive players.
Adding in heavy bullet magnetism with aim assist and enlarging hitboxes/hitscan.
Falsely advertising the lackluster campaign.
Adding in one of the worst teammate AIs of recent gaming.
Removing Master Chief from a majority of the campaign.
Warden Eternal…
Releasing “remix”/forge maps and claiming them as “Free DLC” .
Having very low core features, map variety and requiring online connection for 90% of included features.
Not punishing quitters as harshly as they should, despite it being an epidemic plaguing the game(including ranked).
Ignoring negative feedback on Spartan Charge(should have never made it passed the beta) and reducing the Radar(BIG MISTAKE).
Adding in ADS on the BR and Spartan callouts(another feature that was negatively received in the beta).
Some of the worst spawns in Halo history.
Incredibly low quality graphics for a next gen game.
Ignoring issues that were mentioned back in Halo Reach/4(Massive sniper hitbox and sprint come to mind)
One of the worst rated and worst selling games in the series with a dropping population.
ALL steps in the “right” direction. I think that is most, if not all of them. Feel free to add to the list if I forgot something.

Customization- instead of having of interchangeable pieces like in the past instead we are greeted with sets that have either 3-5 copies or just 1 with colored lines added to make it seem different, plus tons of fugly armor that you are forced to unlock because of the req system.
Colors-They had colors to build off of and improve on/add onto, opportunity to have a third color option especially with the white lined variants. Colors on armors are different colors with other armors which results with inconsistencies with matching colors, then primary and secondary don’t have the option to get both the exact same colors from either color options for primary and secondary.
Emblems-From being your own to being 343i standard preset offerings
I don’t agree with the idea that they saved Reach. They made a patch that few people were in favour for and currently, all playlists containing that patch are empty. Not to mention that they still didn’t nerf or buff weapons or vehicles that really needed them (Banshee bomb is still ridiculous). They also removed and re-orgnanised several playlists that they haven’t gone back to and touched (half the playlists are empty, barely reaching 10 even on weekends).
If you’re talking about the last map pack then I have to correct you as they weren’t the ones developing them.
